| Nice old truck. What's up with the paint? Did it have a interior fire in the past? | |

Did it have a interior fire in the past? I was going to ask the same thing. Looks like it was torched or something. Rest of the truck looks cherry though. Nice!

| I've noticed that tree sap takes a serious toll on paint, no matter the manufacturer. | |

No interior fire it just looks like a bad prep job from the factory or something that's about all I can figure out its a strange one for sure , its all just surface rust too so I will probably just have it sanded down and paint it or do it myself , the cab corners and cowl are even solid as a rock .

| Hauling everything on the roof and hanging off the doors did a number on the paint. Someone should have told the previous owner that's what the bed is for. Congrats on the truck. It does look to be in really good shape. GM used a bad paint mixture for over twenty years. My friends 2000 GMC truck looks just like that picture. It's a truck that spent it's whole life in California. The truck has probably only seen a salted road four of five times, going over the pass on highway 50 and 80. | |

| I had an 84 Custom 10, silver with an 8' bed, but had the 6 cylinder. Same color interior. At 120,000 miles, my wife, at the time girlfriend, told me she wanted to drive it home for the weekend. I was working in CT. and living in NJ. Next weekend she came back with a new 92 Ford XLT Lariat. Truck is gone, still have the wife. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| The three dummies on TV bought 3 used trucks in Alaska to see which was the toughest. The old Chevy won. The vid is on YouTube.
My pal, Brad Bergholdt, the college automotive instructor and columnist, bought a pickup to drive to Alaska. His choice, an old Chevy. I asked why and he said; "simple, I can get parts anywhere."
I'd say that you made a good investment.
