I have owned my truck for 8 years now and thought it was time I put a new battery in it. Costco sells Interstate Batteries and had my group number so I bought it. When I came home, I began thinking maybe I should have researched before I bought it. In the past, I put NAPA batteries in my diesel, and Auto Zone in the Yukon.
I wondered if the Costco batter is the same as one you would get through an Interstate dealer. I was able to bring up the specs from the battery numbers. Costco Interstate cost $119, Interstate dealer recommended $169. Costco Interstate 1/16" smaller in length and width, same height. Costco battery 40lbs, Dealer 38.8. Costco had higher CCA 770 vs, 730, and a longer warranty. Johnson Controls makes the battery. Depending where you live it is made in the U.S. (68%) or Mexico if you live in the south west.
I can't compaiin about the OEM Delco, still feels strong, was 630 CCA.
