| Ok guys, just because we are over here doesn't mean we are off the hook. last big thing I bought was my cooper tires that are made in USA. I made this a sticky since we had a bunch of us who wanted it that way at the other place. We can change that if anyone wants | |

| Bought a couple pairs of Carhartt jeans this weekend. The denim ones were made in Me-hi-co, but the canvas work jeans are still made in the USofA. Good luck with their pocket tees, though... they're made in every 3rd-world country under the sun. On a rack of tees, you'll find 4 or five different countries represented. | |

| Got a great deal on some Panasonic CR123 batteries recently.
They were even cheaper than Surefire CR123's, and they were made at the exact same plant here in the USA..

| I had to look it up, as well..
But after seeing a picture of it on Google, I remember seeing one in my Grandfather's garage hanging on the wall as a kid.
I think he called it a Pike Pole, or something along those lines..

| Lazyboy living room sectional. Made in the USA with some domestic and some foreign materials. Could have bought something at Ashely's made in Mexico for about 40% less, it wasn't quite as nice and the fabric didn't feel as dense. I puckered up and bought what my conscience would accept. | |

I thought we did too when we got a Flexsteel recliner and a loveseat- Made in the USA and the "lifetime warranty" on the reclining mechanism were big selling points. The recliner has been a big disappointment and an expensive one at almost $900 for the (cloth not leather) recliner alone. The handle came off in my hand- the square tube connecting the handle to the rest of the reclining mechanism broke in half. Turns out Flexsteel doesn't consider the square tube and handle part of the reclining mechanism and wanted almost $30 for a new handle/ tube assembly. I raised a stink and Flexsteel finally sent me a new handle at n/c for "customer goodwill". Then the reclining mechanism itself seized up- the store sent someone out; the recliner mechanism itself would be replaced at n/c but they wanted $75 to install it. The guy that came out showed me how to do it and when the new mechanism showed up a week later, I had the entire job done in 15 minutes. That's not the end of it though- the replacement handle/ square tube assembly has broken in half just like the original. For the moment I've got a Snap On ratchet, extention and socket to work the recliner and some HD square tubing out in the garage to build my own assembly when it finally warms up. It's La-Z-Boy next time- the La-Z-Boy recliner DW picked up at a garage sale almost a decade ago has been far less trouble than this thing.

| Least your intent was in good faith, that matters for something. I hope the La-Z-Boy stuff holds up over the test of time. My dad has two La-Z-Boy recliners that are pretty nice. I sat in a few recently when we were buying the living room suite. Found a couple that were extremely nice, had to get out of them quick before one of them became part of the purchase. | |

| Bakflip hard folding tonneau cover for the F150. Same manufacturer I had on the Silverado, similar unit, went with the new Fibermax this time. Simply functions like expected, easy to work with day in an day out, and a quality piece that lasts. | |

| New blades (3), air cleaner prefilter, oil, filter, and grease for the John Deere X320- all made in the USA ....... finally pulled the snowblower (we got dumped on with 9" earlier this month) and got ready for mowing season. The new blades may have to be replaced sooner than I want - the nieces' kids left a pile of Made in the USA rocks that I didn't see in the tall grass ...... arrrrgh! | |

| I had a great experience this week I have to share. I'm not sure where they're made but Maui Jim sunglasses are the bomb. Good styling and it's a great company. I had a worn out pair, needed to upgrade the lenses, the frames were pretty worn, but I was sure they would last another year or two. I wanted to save money and just replace the lenses with the new script.
First off, they aren't cheap but they are well known for having the best lenses in the business, no plastic crap. Just great optics. The optometry store sent my old sunglasses with the new script and back comes new frames, new case, glass cleaner, cloth cleaner at no extra cost. What a wonderful surprise this day and age.

| New tires- a pair of Mastercraft Courser AT II's to replace the Maypop's (worn out Contitracs) on the rears. $250 They're made by Cooper. A lot more aggressive tread than the Conti's (a bit noisier but still acceptable) .... hope they work better in the snow. | |
