Getting some quotes on having a small shop built on the property. 20x25 or so is all I need for what I have.

The welded up ones are coming in just a bit higher than the pre-fab ones, probably end up going that route.

There is nothing like a garage big enough to work on your vehicles in the shade or cold weather. I usually scramble to get maintenance done before the cold weather sets in. The 53 Dodges takes up my garage and I haven't started it in 2 years.

3 yrs from now Pup will have traded in his shed 3 times and have a heated/cooled 40x60.

Using his recent track record on campers and trucks for comparison. Very Happy

It's being built on a slab, won't be trading it.

Build it on a 40 x 25 slab. Then you'll have room to park outside and do some work and later expand the garage to match the slab. everyone knows you won't be happy unless you can trade up.

Pour a bigger slab. You don't want to park your motorhome in the dirt Razz .

Having crushed concrete brought in for the extended driveway and in front of the shop. Slab prices around here are through the roof right now with the booming construction going on all around dfw.

This place is to get us up to retirement, then sell and get out to the real country someplace.

No worries.
You can always pour around the smaller slab and pin them together. Very Happy

Was going to wait a bit before getting the flooring installed/updated, but doing a favor for a friend. His Son-In-Law is between jobs and needed money. He does good work and gave me a good price for the installation labor. So new floors are being installed today.

Floor is in, finished that up on Saturday. Shop builder messaged me that evening that they were going to start on the slab this Wednesday. Up early on Sunday, empty out the old shed, tore it down and loaded the remnants on the trailer. Truck bed is full of carpet, padding and floor scraps, trailer is full of dead shed. Hauling that to the dump this weekend. I need a vacation from the house.

It will eventually be over. Hang in there. A lot of work for sure, but it looks like your handling it well.

An outside lift would be nice. Smile .
When they are finished with the pour and it is set up enough that you can't scratch it with your finger nail, start watering the slab and keep it wet as long as you can stand doing it for a few weeks. It will increase the strength as it slowly cures instead of a fast cure.

That's the plan to keep it watered once it's poured. Shouldn't be too much trouble, been rainy here

Looks like they did a good job forming it. Nice depth on the exterior should help out a lot along with the rebar. I'm impressed they put plastic down.

Yes, plastic AND rebar?!
On the right path for sure. Small pour like that should be easy to do with a tight mix. Don't let them water it down.

Nice. The first time I used one of those power trowels, it dragged me away. You let the concrete get a little harder than you would if you hand trowel. It gives a nice finish. When I first started driving a concrete truck most of the masons were Italian. The power trowel was jokingly called an Italian helicopter.
Will the building go up now, or will you wait for next Spring?
