| This time last week I set Zach out to find a job. He took his resume around town and I told him to personally hand it to the man doing the hiring, whether they needed help or not.
He's been filling out applications all summer long with no results, so I sent him out for some face to face time.
He got one job this past Saturday at the Allen Event Center working on the staff there for all the hockey, arena football, indoor soccer games and concerts.
Cinemark Theaters called today wanting him to come in for an interview. Then Target called later wanting the same.
He's gone from nothing, no prospects, zero to having a choice of jobs in less than a week. All because he looked the men in the eye and became real, instead of an anonymous, faceless "person" on the internet.
He goes to the local community college 3 days a week and has plenty of time for a job. | |

| Excellent advice! It's always more difficult to say no to someone face to face. | |

| Every one of the places initially told him they didn't need help. He told them thanks, just think of me when you do...they all called back in a matter of days. | |

| God advice but Im surprised he was able to find the hiring person. When I try to talk to them even on the phone they are never available. | |

| He found the manager on duty I'm guessing. Too bad there really isn't anything out there other than minimum wage jobs though. It's the change we all knew was coming. We'll have to start living like 3rd worlder's soon. 5 families to a house and 16 kids to a bedroom just to pay the bills. | |

| My son is in his 2nd year of college. This past summer I got him a job with a plumber in the town that I work in, $10/hr. The first week he was ready to quit, he couldn't believe how hard work was. He dug a lot of gas lines and sewers lines by hand. After a couple of weeks he was resigned to work and save up his money. When he had to leave to go back to school, the plumber told him to call him anytime 3 days in advance if he wants to work during breaks from school. He learned a lot more than he knows over the summer. Zach will appreciate the money he earns himself. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| I remember spraying weeds on the farm. Drive the tractor covering 8 rows at a time. Every time I saw some I need to spray I stoppedbat sprayed with a wand hooked up to the pump and water tank on the back. From sun up to just about sun down for I dont remember how many hundreds of acres. One night I dreamt of doing that all night just to get up the next day to actually do it all over again. Worst sleep ever! | |

| Opportunity is often missed because it's dressed in overalls and looks like work. | |

| Should be a law forcing either military enrollment for 2 year minimum or some form of manual labor. Make kids earn ethics and hard work appreciation. | |
