We received our property tax notices in the mail and the 2015's second installment captures a 27% increase over last year. I saw one article say the tax increase is 12.8% so maybe the second installment is adjusting for the entire 2015 year. Anyway, this puts Chicago at one of the highest property taxes in the US.
And this increase still doesn't fix the initial problem of pension debt/default so there will likely be more rounds of property tax increases.
