| Has Ford dropped the ball, or has GM simply upped the ante? | |

| As much as the media and public railroaded the new trucks upon their debut, seems GM did something halfway right.

| Wish they'd show the 25/3500 numbers as well. | |

It only took about a hundred years of begging and pleading to get them to give us the half ton breakdown. We probably won't get the three quarter and one ton breakdown for another generation or two.

| What's amazing is PUTC puts the graphs together of the 1/2 ton breakout but doesn't disclose the actual numbers. Just by simple math one could get an idea of the heavy duty breakout if they produced the actual 1/2 ton numbers they obviously have. | |

Good point. It would show us the difference between half ton and heavy duty, but it wouldn't show the difference between 3/4 ton and one ton. We are never happy. Maybe we could break it down even further to show cab size and box size and 2wd vs 4x4. The list is never ending.

We probably won't get the three quarter and one ton breakdown for another generation or two. PUTC had the sales break down for LD and HD back in 2012. R.L. Polk compiled the data.

| Interesting, my perception would have been a higher number of total HD's from Ram and not as many from GM. The graphs seem to summarize that GM does well in the 3/4 ton, but pales in the 1 ton space. It's Ford's market to lose, as the competitors offer significant products in their own right.
Ford has been extremely dominate in this space, buying habits in vehicles especially trucks, seem to take an eternity to change if ever. Otherwise the market parody would have been further along.
These graphs also start to corroborate the '15 F-150 is hurting the "F-Series" sales significantly.

| GM is in last place for HDs any way you slice it.
I've seen many GMC/Buick dealers that are hampered by small sales lots so most HD trucks are order only.

| Sliced in the 3/4 ton the graph shows GM sells more than RAM. RAM appears to lead GM by around 5k units in total of all HD sales. I guess PUTC's number pad quit working on their keyboard, they just can't seem to publish the actual numbers.

| Guys over at PUTC must be goobers. The first HD sales graph is "sales by brand". Yet they combine the Chevy and GMC brands!?!?! Change the title to "sales by company" and change RAM label to FCA and the representation would be correct. | |

| PUTC is run by a bunch of car guys. They wouldn't know what a pickup was if they got run over by one. | |
