Been a bad past few days

This is my nephew Jake Reed and his newborn son Aaron. We lost Jake this past Thursday, July 3rd in an accident at his work. Jake was a driver of a trucking company that moved huge, heavy equipment. They were loading a crane and he was guiding the load when something happened that hasn't been explained to us clearly yet that led to him being run over by the trailer. He was only 30, leaves behind a 5 week old son and a fiance.

Spent the weekend with my brothers and my mother and none of us is really handling this well, especially his dad. Tomorrow morning is his funeral down in Magnolia TX, just NW of Houston, where he lived and worked.

Wow, that is rough.

We lost our son. Different stories, similar feelings. You never get over it, as love is forever no matter the circumstances, it simply becomes easier to handle with time and thought.

Thanks for all the thoughts guys. Been a hell of a month. Carrying my nephews casket to his grave was by far the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Indescribable.

But life does indeed go on. Yesterday, we were greeted with a new life. My newest Great Niece was born. Leighton Jean Andrews.

She is a little cutie.
