PRESS RELEASE

NISSAN'S ‘PROJECT TITAN’ TO BUILD ULTIMATE CROWDSOURCED PICKUP TRUCK WITH HELP FROM FANS ON FACEBOOK

Fans Invited to Select Truck Modifications Starting Today;
Finished Truck to Carry Wounded Warrior Project® Alumni on Alaskan Adventure in July

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Starting today, Nissan is asking fans on Facebook to help build the ultimate off-road capable full-size truck for the adventure of a lifetime. Project Titan will invite fans to choose custom modifications for a 2014 Nissan Titan that two Wounded Warrior Project Alumni® will pilot through the Alaskan wilderness this summer.

Fans are encouraged to visit NissanTrucks Facebook page to vote on their preferences for the Titan's performance, utility, design and other modifications during the next few weeks. Nissan will build the project truck based on this fan feedback and will share exclusive videos and photos of its progress. Once complete, Nissan will take the vehicle to Alaska, where WWP Alumni David Guzman and Kevin McMahon will embark on a multi-day trek that will put the veterans and the vehicle to the test. Nissan will document their adventure and produce a YouTube series launching in September. Project Titan is Nissan’s second crowdsourced vehicle project, following the automaker’s Project 370Z performance build in 2012.

"This is going to be one incredible adventure," said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing, Parts and Service, Nissan North America. "The Nissan Titan is already well- equipped to tackle a trip into the wilderness, but we are going to push this custom-built version to its limits to give these fearless Warriors all they can handle and memories they will never forget."

The ruggedly tailored Titan will enable the veterans to take on the natural terrain of the Alaskan wild. To assist in their off-roading explorations, the veterans will put Titan’s cargo carrying flexibility to the test by loading up the truck with an array of outdoor recreational and survival equipment. With a maximum towing capacity of 9,500 lbs., a sliding bed extender, the Utili- trackTM Bed Channel System for optimum cargo hauling and a lockable bedside storage compartment, the Titan’s undeniable functionality makes it the perfect companion for the rigorous excursion.

Nissan would have been better off doing this on their own or partnering up with an outdoor company.

WWP is tremendously dishonest when a person evaluates their PR from their actual charity execution, public financial records, and the benefit direct toward veterans.

WWP does as little as possible directly with Veterans.  Reviewing their yearly form 990 tax filings validates this.  62% of every dollar is absorbed by the organization internally.  Those two minute FoxNews commercials aren't cheap.  Nor are 20 or so officers salaries that run $150k to 350k annually.  Yes donations intended to benefit Veterans pay these considerable amounts.  With the 38% of the donations left for Veterans, WWP actually makes donations to 501.c.3 organizations like Fisher House, who actually benefit Veterans or other ancillary activities.  The better idea is to donate to Fisher House or other real charities directly.

WWP is basically outsourcing the charity after they absorb a vast majority of the donated dollars.  From an ethical and integrity point of view WWP falls woefully short.

Read a posting from a small charity.  WWP was offering there $100,000 donation.  There were legal binding items tied to the donation, the small charity would need to desist, destroy all marketing, branding, and website content that use wounded, or warrior in their name.  I believe they used warrior in the small charities name.  In summary this was a bribe so that WWP retains it's marketing and PR branding and eliminates completion from using these terms.  This is how they keep the ponzi scheme going.

Veteran of Korea, Vietnam, WWP wants nothing to do with you.  Your not good marketing material and are not an emotional tug on a TV commercial.

Americans just assume all charities operate with moral integrity and honesty.  No what WWP is doing is lawful somehow.  It's simply not right when we compare many other examples that define and set the bar to what right is.  WWP is all about promoting and growing their brand for their own individual benefit.

Wounded Warrior Project Nissan Titan Ready for Alaska Adventure

The current Nissan Titan fullsize truck may be on its way out, but Nissan wanted to send it out in style. The manufacturer has teamed up with the Wounded Warrior Project to outfit a Nissan Titan to be the adventure rig for two wounded warriors, David Guzman and Kevin McMahon. The truck began as a 2014 Titan Pro4X Crew Cab. Nissan then enlisted the help of its Facebook fans to choose how to outfit it.

First up were Nitto Trail Grappler tires and a PRG long-travel suspension system. Next up came an ARB Bull Bar front bumper, winch and driving lights, a Borla dual-outlet cat-back exhaust, an ARE camper shell, and a Manley off-road trailer.

The final phase of the buildup includes a custom desert digital camo wrap from 3M, 18-inch Fuel Revolver wheels, a custom-fabricated roof rack, and Bulldog LED exterior lighting. Of course, just because the truck is tough doesn’t mean it can’t also be comfortable, so to that end, the truck received Katzkin custom leather seat covers with the project logo and a custom Rockford Fosgate sound system.

The next step is to ship the truck off to Alaska for its off-road adventure. Check out the three YouTube videos detailing its buildup below.
