>> TRUCK TREND's SEMA 2013 Truck and SUV Mega Gallery <<Chevrolet TrucksTo nobody's surprise, the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado had a huge presence at this year's show. All the usual upgrades were shown for the truck, including lighting, performance, suspension, and appearance accessories.
At the GM booth, there was also a cleanly restored 1978 K15 Silverado truck with a 5.3-liter E-Rod crate engine swap. With the rugged, classic styling of the '73-'87 trucks with modern Vortec power, we can't think of a much better combination. Even the forthcoming 2015 Silverado HD was at the show, appropriately enough shown towing a COPO Camaro.
GMC TrucksWhile the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and classic Chevrolet trucks were well-represented this year, there were a few 2014 Sierras and classic GMCs as well. One of the most noteworthy "Jimmys" was the 1954 COE truck with a rear-mounted Cummins diesel, named "Fermented Fruit." Like many other classic restomods at the show this year, it wore its rusty patina with pride, and got plenty of clicks from show attendees. Check out our smaller, but still significant photo gallery of classic and late-model GMC trucks below!
Ford TrucksBeing the best-selling truck in the U.S., the Ford F-150 was everywhere at SEMA, and the Raptor, or Raptor look-alikes were well represented . Many of the trucks were equipped with LED "angel eyes" LED headlights in various colors. Even being several years old, the Raptor seems as popular as ever. Not quite as numerous, but still plentiful, the Super Duty once again was a popular model among truck accessory makers.
Ford debuted the Snake Bit F-100 custom, revealed by none other than Gene Simmons of KISS and had 10 custom Transit Connects on display as part of its Vandemonium collection, showing the customization potential for its new compact van.
Ram TrucksRam has been on a solid winning streak the last few years in sales, and the aftermarket is definitely taking notice. Aside from the Mopar models in the Chrysler display, there were numerous customized Ram trucks on display. The HD models seemed to be the most plentiful.
Ram also showed a customized new ProMaster at the Mopar exhibit, complete towing a Fiat 500 Abarth, as well as the surf-themed Sun Chaser Ram 1500 pickup concept, among others.
Toyota TrucksCustomized Toyota trucks were not as numerous as the domestic brands, but those that were there definitely turned heads, with several customized Hilux models at the show, including a few turbodiesels. Being the best-selling midsize truck, the Tacoma was naturally the most visible model at the show.
