Strange how they all got the same fuel economy.

the writing in that article was painful to read.

and yea, a 3.21 Ram will be slower, and if your WOT all the time you won't get better MPG than the other smaller motors

kinda lame

"TRUNK SPACE* 5 5 3 1"

huh?

Interesting some of the same "quality" issues identified on the Ford are the same of which I had taken note of previously.  The door skins fluttering with audible sound on closing, the grill attached to the hood, and the vagueness or wondering of the steering on center.

I would add to the list.  Zero corrosion protection of the iron front spindles and rear axle assembly.  My 2002 Chevrolet was at least coated and had zero corrosion after twelve years.

Interesting how the low curb weight of the Chevrolet comparatively.  The mileage on my EB isn't all it's marketed to be, IMHO. Thus the results being inline with the V8's, expected.

Howie Long hosted a series of truck commercials pitting the Big Three. Diesels.
What made them interesting was that they were doing things similar to what RV'ers do, haul around very heavy fifth-wheels and trailers.
The Chevy won. It could do something the Ford couldn't (Dodge was out by this time because it didn't have the new Commercial RAM) it was able to hold speed loaded, going downhill. Among other things that made it better.

It is rare to have a test of 'like' trucks and even more uncommon to find one where they test em the way most buyers actually buy em.

Seeing a bunch of these around. I do like the integrated step into the bumper, much better implementation than Ford's bed entry contraption. The aesthetics pull from heritage, but are disgustingly new. I would like to drive a 5.3 with the 3:42's. Will be interesting to see how the 6.2 compares when the mileage figures for it are released.
