| 2015 Chevy Tahoe, Suburban and GMC Yukon unveiled - Quote :
- General Motors has today unveiled its new family of fullsize SUVs, including the 2015 Chevy Tahoe, its longer Suburban sibling, and their GMC Yukon, Yukon XL and Yukon Denali cousins. More efficient powertrains, improved aerodynamics, increased connectivity and better overall refinement are what Chevy and GMC say will separate their new SUVs from the current generation.
Sporting a tried-and-true body-on-frame architecture, these full-size SUVs feature platforms that are stronger and offer a wider rear track for "a more planted stance," according to Chevy and GMC. Mounted at the front of each SUV is an EcoTec3 powertrain, which consists of a standard 355-horsepower, 5.3-liter V8 (or a 420-hp, 6.2-liter V8 for the GMC Yukon Denali alone) with direct injection, cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing, that's paired with a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission. The setup is said to be more efficient than before, though official EPA fuel economies for each vehicle are not yet available. To help the powertrain achieve the best possible fuel economy in these 5,000+ pound SUVs, the new styling was developed with aerodynamics in mind. For the same reason, electric power steering also makes its debut in the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon family. More here... AutoBlog | |

| GM makes a fantastically solid SUV's. Out of all the vehicles we've had our '07 Denali did everything its expected and was actually fun to drive within its boundaries. My wife was just commenting on this today as the Edge she currently has is lifeless when it comes to the driving experience. | |

| I see the average price is 46K, I'll have to see what towing package they come out with. We have owned a 2002 Suburban and now the 2008 Yukon. Both nice vehicles. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| The Chevy suburban reminds me of a Ford Flex. | |

| Yes, like it wants to be a station wagon, odd proportions probably due to aerodynamic considerations. Kudos for that attempt. But I'm not sure it all looks good together. The squared-off influence abounds and for me it doesn't work. They let that designer with the Humvee/H2 hard-on run amuck. Low roof line, sloping roof at the rear, and windows appear smaller. And then a cheap looking vertical line bulging out at the front. I have to admit, it has a 2010 Impala front end look. I won't be able to get that thought out of my head now. | |

| Too bad they don't make utility versions anymore. I'm sure there are still contractors out there that would like low optioned work trucks for hauling the crew around. | |
