Brought the air force truck home, again. My brother took care of it for many years. Pics of this truck fresh from the AFB were on PUTC back in 1999, IIRC. Drove it 700 miles from Michigan to Teneessee. Was trouble free but forgot how loud these old trucks are. No cruise control or radio. 3M WorkTunes came to the rescue.

Looks good! I like the square body GMC's and Chevy's. I bought one new in 1984 and had it for 8 years. It had a 6 cylinder and the engine was on the way out with 125,00 on it. My girlfriend (now my wife) took it home one night to NJ from CT where I was working at the time and bought me a new F-150.

Added some old school style spot lights. The tight beam pattern is nice to see vs all the LED light bar craze. Doesn't wash out your night vision over powering everything around the sides.

Mainly just driving it and racking up some miles. Plan on keeping the 6.2 in it. Would like to upgrade to some 6.5 parts like serpentine belt drive and turbo. Will need to get a vintage AC unit for it. Little bit warmer down here than Michigan, lol.
Starting to collect square body parts. Recently grabbed some rear doors from a pick-a-part yard.

Installed skyjacker 4" softride front springs and 295/70-17s. Need less than 2" for the rear. Looking at options so I can keep the tow capacity. ORD has 2" longer tension shackles for a 1" lift, maybe a set of soft 4" rear springs and air bags or a simple 1.5" lift block.

SuperDuty Fords use different size blocks on the back between models. Probably be the easiest. Blocks and new ubolts.

Would be the easiest and cheapest. Could always upgrade later if axle wrap becomes an issue. 2" blocks should about do it.
