| Spent the weekend in the mountains at a 4-H camp to be able to teach shotgun to the 4-H kids. We joined the club for archery, but it has spread out to air rifle, 22Lr, and shotgun. In the Fall they are offering pistol. I thought we would have shot more but it is more on the teaching side for the correct safety methods. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| Awesome!
I fully intend to get my little girl trained to use a firearm, when she's physically, mentally, and emotionally ready to start learning. I've still got my old Daisy 880 Powerline for her to start with, and between me and her "Papa", we've got plenty of firearms for her to learn to use.
Archery is something that has always intrigued me, but I've never taken the time to learn. maybe something else to do with my little Warrior Princess... | |

| My first 22Lr was the Ruger 10/22 which is a great rifle at a very good price. A lot of people suggest starting kids out with a bolt action, but I didn't do that with my kids. I have a M&P 15, and out of the 22's that gets used the most. With the price of ammo, a 22 is still a good value. I like the M&P 15 22 so much, I went out and bought the M&P 15 Sport twice.
I don't know a lot about archery, but would like to get into it more. At least you can set up in your backyard and not have the cops come when you shoot. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| Thank you for teaching them to properly shoot a shotgun. The more shooters we have, the better. Last year my friends and I went to the range to support a father teaching his kid how to shoot. We brought all different types of .22 rifles. He started out with a Henry lever, but quickly moved to the Ruger 10-22. I think that M&P 15 will do just fine. Has anyone tried Appleseed? ____________________________________ Why not?

| It's pretty neat watching how engaged kids get when they discover the enjoyment of it. They enjoy all the etiquette and process for safe loading/unloading, handling, and putting rounds down range. Having them educated to understand and respect the machinery they're handling and purposing IMHO is better than them not knowing, being curious because they are isolated, and then injuring or seriously hurting themselves or someone else. | |

| Yep the Genesis mini. She's between it and the model larger in size. She can do the larger bow and likes it cause it propels the arrows faster. After 6 or 7 pulls she gets fatigued. Thus she'll stick with the mini for a while. | |

| I got to shoot the Genesis over the weekend. I had to give a shotgun class to archery instructors, then they had to give me an archery class. It was fun, I could enjoy that with the correct size bow. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.
