| I was watching pipe being installed outside one of our well houses in the winter. I went to cross the street on my lunch break to get food and drink from the company truck I had and stepped into what I thought was a few inch icy puddle. It was a foot deep and I slammed me knee into the highway. Company doctor had me in surgery within a week. Three weeks after surgery he had me back to work on limited duty while I argued I needed another week. They later sent me a check for $3,000 IIRC. I told them it was an accident and didn't expect them to give me money. I finally cashed it, bad mistake. I know need a knee replacement. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| Although my PCP is good the office he works for sucks! They were bought out by a crappy local hospital chain. I can no longer leave a message with his med assistant for a follow up as there's no voice message option. Now I need to call the front desk to get a new office appointment some time in the future.

| Update : Surgery, again, on Tuesday! The thinking is a lingering infection is not allowing the skin to heal. It's kinda my wife's decision how to proceed at this point. The bone fusion around the cages is good. They are going to remove the screws and rods, clean and culture the area, wait 3 days then close. What we are not clear on is installation of different hardware or not. When we talked to dr it was just remove but while talking to scheduling they stated reinstalling hardware. The wife knows my position, throw out the anchor, complete haul until I get clarification. Blood work and ct scan show no evidence of a infection, yet. The fissure (abcess) has closed up a lot but has a hole that won't totally close but isn't draining fluids like a infected wound does. Think large piercing how it won't close without surgical intervention.
She's under enough stress so I'm biting my tounge....as much as possible, lol

| First surgery done, hardware removed and the large buildup of scar tissue causing the fissure that wouldn't heal was cut out. It's a pretty big chunk of meat missing but that's why they has a plastic surgeon to close it.
No signs of infection around the hardware and bone fusion looking good. Have multiple cultures growing to make sure there is no infection and if there is we'll know exactly what strain to fight.

| As of today nothing growing in cultures so that's good news. Should have surgery schedule after midnight so we'll know what time Friday for final surgery. | |

| Seen back surgeon today. 1 of 4 cultures grew something but he thinks it was due to cross contamination from removing the fissure material. There were no signs around the hardware that there was an infection this time.
Just waiting on plastic surgeon and discharge papers now.

| Wife is doing good now. Stitches are out, drain out. Was able to go in a pool last week for the first time since January. Latest Xrays and DR visit said should be good for 1 yr check up. | |

Has been a long year. | |

| Wow. Good luck on that. My brother is been laid up 6 weeks now since his shoulder surgery. It was worse than they thought. His main complaint is sleeping sitting up in a lounger. I made it to Georgia Today. We're off school for the week, going back next Saturday. 13.5 hour drive. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| The next few days we will be heading to Atlanta and then visit Berry University where my daughter wants to transfer to. I enjoy it here in Rhydal, yesterday I went to Cabelas up near the Tenn. Line. I bought some 7.62 and a tripod for my sporting scope. 2 more years and we should be here permanent. Doesn't look like a trip to Tennessee this time. Nashville will have to wait. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.
