The vocational district that I sub for is really short of help and asked if I would travel a little further than I normally do to help out. Today I received my Department of Defense security clearance and now work inside the hanger where the Hindenburg would have been parked if it didn't explode. The high school is built inside the hangar and has 2 floors. It looks tiny inside such a huge building.

I'm surprised the hanger is still there.

It's old. Yesterday I was looking at the machinery the used to open the hangar doors. It is old rusty, has more rivets than welds. I don't think the main doors have opened in ages. It still is a site to see how big a building can be. Football fields could easily sit inside it. I have heard, but don't know for a fact that it sometimes rains/snows inside the hangar but not outside on some days.
Next door is a smaller hangar where the make and test all the cables for stopping jets on all of our aircraft carriers.
You can see the hangar on google earth, Joint Base McGuire, Fort Dix, and Lakehurst Naval. The hangar is on the edge of the Lakehurst border.

Here is a link to a couple of sites showing the hangar.

In the second link, if you scroll down to the bigger image of the airship, on the left wall of the hangar, you can see a long white building two stores tall. That is the high school I work at.
