Toyota SW4 ( aka Fortuner) spotted..

I spotted one of these World Market Toyotas pulling into the parking lot of a local grocery store today. As it pulled in front of me, I could hear the soft clatter of a small turbo diesel engine whirling under the hood. After it parked in a spot, I slowly pulled behind and read the numerous emblems scattered around the back hatch. A "SW4" emblem was in the lower left corner, with a "3.0 D-4D VN Turbo" in the other corner.

This is the first Toyota Fortuner that I have ever seen in the flesh. It's a really good looking SUV, much better looking than the current 4-Runners (with their basking shark grilles).

If they sold these here in the States, I think Toyota would sell a sh*t-ton of them..

I didn't have my phone on me, so I pulled this pic from the internet. It looked exactly like light grey 2012-2016 model with the hood scoop.

Okay. Who modified my post? Mod? Someone else?

Because someone added that '4' in the title, and in my post. The SUV that I saw only said "SW" on the back, no number 4 to be found anywhere.  Even though it probably is a called a Toyota SW4 in some South American countries.

Oh, and then you signed me up to a photo hosting site under my username and email? Like I am ever going to use it..

It was Russian hackers that did it or maybe from Macedonia.

My guess is that it was Greg..

ETA: It didn't dawn on me (at the time) that this was based upon the same generation of Toyota Hilux. It has the same interior (dash, door panels, seats, etc.) same front end, hood, fenders, and same engines.

The 'Forbidden Fruit' was right there, within my grasp..

I see some cool Toyotas and some funky expedition type vehicles once in a while , I was up at eden valley AKA the middle of nowhere about 8 years ago and came upon this big unimog looking truck we both had to turn back as the snow was deep as hell and we were going down the mountain into the valley .

I looked through a bunch of (photos of) license plates from South America, and it perfectly matched a plate from Sao Paulo, Brazil, with a weird grey checkerboard pattern on it.  
If they were from Brazil, they were all long way from home..

I wonder what the driving distance is from Coos Bay to Sao Paulo is?  

Isn't Eden Valley south of Powers? Out in Timbuktu?

Yes its the middle of nowhere , one of my favorite places to go .
