The EcoBoost 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor shreds the old V8 truck in a drag race In fact, the V8 doesn't even come close.

This video from FastLaneTruck.com handily demonstrates just how potent the EcoBoost powertrain makes the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor. Pitting the new truck against the V8 Raptor of yesterday, with a little boastful revving ahead of the drag race, the FLT guys show us what is what. And as you can see, there is no contest – the slimline six leaves the 2014 V8 version standing. But man, the V8 sounds good.

The 10 speed transmission helps off the line and that aluminum body should make a difference too.

Not to mention the difference in pure grunt. The new Raptor has a High-output EcoBoost V6 with 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque, mated to that 10-speed automatic you mentioned while the first gen Raptor in the video has a 6.2L V8 with 411 hp and 434 lb-ft of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Giddy up!

Neither are slouches but I'm impressed how much faster the new one is, especially off the line.

On top of what was already mentioned, the test was at 1 mile high. The turbo motor will have lost much less hp than the na motor.
