| Not an anti-capitalism at all. The cancer it describes is fascism, the collusion of companies and government use of military for the sake of the companies, or capitalism gone wild, a government of the companies, by the companies, for the companies.
This is what is described. If the country doesn't comply, we bomb them. Then in the aftermath and chaos left behind, we attempt to install a US puppet government. When the people in the country don't like it, don't like what we've done, there called terrorists, extremists, insert your derogative term here.
Same playbook, each having a mix and match of plays used. Result in the same.
In the end it's more of the same, more corporate benefit, more war, lot of death, more government control over the people is demanded, the people simply comply.

| Six straight days of market decline. Closing today -120.71 down at 17,419.75. What's going to drive the market? Nothing it appears. | |

| Interest rates near all time lows, stock market near all time highs. Something's gotta give. The fed has the pedal to the metal but it didn't make much of a difference and now it's looking like a global slow-down plus the US consumer is tightening the purse strings. | |

| Get ready for another big hit today. APJ markets down roughly 3%, EMEA down the same or worse. DOW US futures off 100.
The thing with the Feds interest rates, unlimited QE, unemployment. It's all corrupt and a lie. They never let the reset happen. There wasn't a recovery. There was an illusion of a recovery perpetrated by the media and the government, but no real recovery occurred. Just like in the past, the government that created the problem is going to correct the problem. There will be new legislation, new rules, new departments,
If they would simply let the correction occur, we'd be much better off in the long run. Else the cycles of bubbles is quicker, decreasing each time about 50% since the last one. There simply are no fundamentals to prop anything up under any false pretenses. The worthless assets they keep propping up are still as worthless as they were in '08, more so now.
We're at a seriously precarious point. They are quickly run out of instruments, lies, and cheats. Weaken currencies to prop up corporate export value. Shanghai got they're @ss handed to them again today off another 4.5%. Hard to image though they're banking system is more corrupt than ours.

| I'm thinking it might bounce back early next week and then continue downward - I slightly flattened my portfolio deltas (up/down risk relative to S&P 500) for Monday but still prepped for a neutral to down market. | |

| Combine the DOW's performance on Thursday and Friday, you'd have the worse performance of any single day in the DOW's history, off 888. Crashes usually don't happen in a few days, but over weeks of volatility. The markets certainly trend to go down much faster than they go up. | |

imho the rise of market had little to do with sound fundamentals or a "recovering" economy (an anemic recovery at best) but everything to do with the Fed's QE (quanitative easing) policy ... all that money the Fed pumped in through QE had to go somewhere- it didn't go to Main Street but Wall Street, giving the illusion of a robust recovery. In the end, even the Fed can't polish a t*rd and I think we're in for one hell of a correction. Reality always wins in the end.

| That sound you hear is the prisoner 401ks being eaten alive.
70% of market activity now is option/shorts driving everything down, hitting stop sell thresholds, its like candy to a baby. The big boys love it.

| Step in? They've been doing unlimited QE or QE infinity for over a year now. They've got no plays left in the playbook. When all the QE pumping funnels out of the institutional banks, we'll get our dose of currency devaluation.
It's a race to the bottom.

| After that 1100 point drop, the market has now decided that China doesn't mean crap... tracking -250 down. Seems our cards, toothpicks, and pixie sticks have keep the ship afloat. Gives one a feeling of foundation confidence. | |

| Dow at 10,000 only 5 years ago. If you play you may have to pay. The big guys that is. Look at charts, up and down, up and down. If you were one of the big guys, who started selling to start this fall, you'd be licking your chops off the billions you're gonna make when it bottoms out. Trillions evaporated out of thin air. Not out of your bank accounts, but if you're unlucky, from your retirement. The rich get richer, blah blah blah. The more things change the more they stay the same. Now the federal reserve may or may not raise the interest rate it loans money to banks. Say what? Federal Reserve? Who gave them the right to sell money to the American people? Why can't we print money out of thin air and loan it to the banks? If it's not too much trouble can somebody explain how this works? | |

| Remember the time when we put money in the bank, and they actually paid us for it? Last tax year I didn't make enough interest on my bank account to even qualify for the bank to offer a 1099-INT statement. Ran across a bank statement from 1994 when I was shredding documents, with roughly $1400 in the bank made $86 in interest.
Remember when you could make a few hundred dollars on a bank CD, and banks actually competed for your money?
Remember when retirees could actually live on interest income?
All of that has been neutered by our great government and the Fed with an FFR of .75%.

| Looks like bottom was reached, if you haven't bought apple or google you're already behind. AAPL up 6+ GOOG up 23+. Those shares are pricey, Ford down to around 13, will be back to 15's in a week or so. Should be on par with GM, but may take years for that. | |

| The market is going to go up, the market is going to go down. You can worry and speculate all you like, there is nothing you can do about it. Super computers buy and sell stock quicker than you can blink an eye. Put your money elsewhere. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| Shanghai closed down 7.63%
I agree, the Fed is out of ammo and can now only beg and plead for no major issue to arise.
I saw that Bill and Obama were out playing golf together. I wonder what plans were being made. But you gotta know Hillary hates Obama. He beat her when she had the best chance to run and win the White House and now her second attempt is derailing.

| If one is looking to make $10k in a year. What other options outside of the stock market are there? No one said your bound to take the ride down. I like hitching a ride on the big boys and the super computer trading they do. Don't mind little old me. Sure I'm not trading on $.05 cent movement with the capital the big boys do, but it is nice to make a few hundreds here or there without being exposed for long term.
The bottom has been reached is relative to point in time. Like previous history of crashes, there's a lot of down and a little bit of up optimism mixed in to make it fun for someone.
