When I got up this morning it was 2F. That in itself was not too bad, but the 50 mph winds really make it nasty. We got 4" of snow last night, most of it has blown up in piles against trees, houses and cars all on the west side. I didn't have to clean snow off the vehicles as the wind took care of that for me. I'm going to wait until tomorrow to snow blow the snow that the plows piled up in the driveway entrance But by then it should be frozen solid.

It warmed up to 15F, so I went out with the snow blower and shovel, and cleaned up the driveway and mailbox. Did my neighbors mailbox also, I don't want to have to make the mailman wade through snow to get to the mailboxes, he's a nice guy! I like to use the feed shovel as it is much sturdier that the cheap snow shovels they sell in all the stores.

-8F here this a.m. and it's a veritable heat wave now ... 6F. Wind makes it feel worse than it is. We've been lucky so far this winter- the snowblower has only been out once, a far cry from last winter. We've had only dustings and real light snows. I leave 'em, packed down they make a good base on our 300', 3/4 minus crushed stone driveway. Otherwise that 44" snowblower sounds like a Gatling gun.

No problems with the Florida gas in this cold weather? I"m guessing you fueled up a couple times on the way back.

Took the Diesel Cruze and was getting 42 MPG so 5-600 miles/tank. No fuel issues luckily. Did get to watch the tires drop 6 psi during the trip due to the temp change!

My truck gets me where I need to go. This morning I waited for the snow plow to make his last pass, stopped the driver to see if he wanted a coffee, then put my truck in 4 Lo and it just creeped through the pile the plow piled up. The cold and the lightness of the snow made it easy, much better than the wet heavy snow. We have 4 vehicles and only 2 that are 4X4 so we park the cars in the driveway and the trucks up on the lawn. You will get a ticket if you leave a vehicle in the street during snow removal, or at the least the plows will pile the snow right up to your vehicle and it's a bitch to dig out.

First time ever did I have a gelling problem, not sure if a long warm-up would have prevented throwing a CEL?

Good one, Greg and my sentiments exactly. Needed a laugh- headed out to the garage, tractor/snowblower has a flat. Tempted to say "screw it" and let it sit until spring but that's a sure guarantee of getting a blizzard.
On edit: "screw it" won out, until tomorrow anyways. 5F'n degrees in the garage and those POS CFL bulbs are as dim as the stupid politicians that mandated them.

Off topic, but about 75% of my bulbs are LED, and I can literally see a difference in my hydro bill. The bulbs I'm using are those flat Philips 'daylight' 40 and 60 watt equivalents. I think they're 7-10 watts in actuality. And they are dimable. beats the hell out of those CFLs.

It's been so cold at work I have had to idle the truck for 20-30 minutes every few hours to keep it from having issues. Changed 4/8 glow plugs but it's been unbearably cold to do the rest.

Have you been able to plug it in? I used a timer that would turn on 4 hours before I needed to start the truck on those cold days.

Mid 20's here in Dallas this morning, been sleeting and freezing rain since about 330am. Gonna keep it up most of the day, high temp supposed to be 28 or so. Road are already iced over and impassable. "Working" from home today as the office is closed.
Which pretty much limits me to remoting in and switching over the phone system for the bad weather, call the Canadian office message.
