Best-Selling Pickup Trucks: October 2014

Quote :
October Pickup Sales Image12

We should note that the first full month of sales for the 2015 Chevrolet Coloroado and GMC Canyon
happens this month. We'll be adding both of those trucks to our list when we report November sales.
They seem to be off to a slow start, with the Colorado selling 1,600 pickups and the Canyon selling
683 units since they started coming off the production line.

Strong months for GM and Ram. Ford buyers waiting for the '15s?

October's Fastest and Slowest Selling Pickups

Quote :
Traditionally a good time to buy a pickup truck, the fourth quarter of the year started strong for just about every full-size truckmaker. Of special note: Chevrolet came out strong with its all-new midsize Colorado. Pent-up demand for something new in this segment translated into an impressive turn-around time of just nine days. However, Toyota's Tacoma and Tundra are selling exceptionally well too, along with a few 2015 heavy-duty trucks.

Both our lists measure how many days a particular type of vehicle has been on a lot before a buyer signs the final paperwork to purchase the truck. We look exclusively at 2014 and 2015 model-year vehicles. For the fastest-selling vehicles, we require a 100-vehicle threshold before we put them on the list to keep the list free of specialty products or limited editions that could skew the results. We have no sales volume threshold for the slowest-selling list, and all are 2014 models. If you happen to be in the market for a new vehicle and don't mind a 2014 model, this list will let you know where you are likely to find a solid deal.

How a sane person can conclude this...

Is beyond rational reasoning.  A slow start?  Was it the expectation that 7k units would be sold with less than 3k units in inventory?  Continuation of the sentence even states

they started coming off the production line.

From the same web site, the fastest two selling trucks were Colorado and Canyon with 9 and 11 days on lot respectively.  Where does PUTC get this analytically geniuses?

Would be nice if media provided graphs with plot points per month for 12 month and 24 month time spans. This would provide a visual aid to track trends and highlight time in point significance for fluctuation in the market. Suppose anyone could do this.
