Yes they can call them anything they want. BUT the GVW and factory configuration plays into it for some insurance companies. This is what I'm finding out trying to insure my 3500HD with a GVW of 15,000lbs that was a factory cab & chassis unit. For some insurance companies personal use pickup trucks have a limit of 10,000lbs GVW, stated in their policy. The agent does not seem aware that modern dual wheeled 1 ton class trucks have a 12-14K GVW nowadays. Makes me wonder what insurance rates are for a 450/550 class truck? | |
