- Chevy offers free maintenance on aging Silverado
Mike Colias Automotive News -- March 1, 2013
General Motors is including scheduled maintenance in the price of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup for sales in March and April, matching a promotion it began last month on the GMC Sierra.
GM is looking to stoke demand for the aging full-sized pickups ahead of the late-spring rollout of its next-generation Silverado and Sierra. The free-maintenance promotion on the Sierra was a success last month and will be extended through April, GM executives said today.
The promotion includes oil changes, oil-filter replacements, tire rotations and vehicle inspections for 2 years/24,000 miles. It will be standard on any 2013 Silverado 1500 sold or leased during March and April and is transferrable between owners.
Kurt McNeil, vice president of GM's sales operations, called the two-year deal "the best pickup coverage in America" when combined with the 5-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty and 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. Source: Automotive News | |
