Subject: Colorado Time Again June 20th 2022, 4:14 pm
Heading out later this week for 8 days of Colorado. Taking the Jeep this year, been about 5yrs since we've Jeeped it there. Back to Lake City and the Alpine Loop. Several back country 12000+ft passes in old mining country of the San Juan Mountains. Weather here is supposed to be 100+ each afternoon. Weather there will be 70ish during the day, 40 or so at night. Probably cost us about what it did last year in fuel costs, even though I pulled the fifth wheel there and back last year. Thanks to Joe Biden and his epic inflation.

Enjoy the trip! Having cool nights while camping is great. You get to have a fire and enjoy it, sleep well without needing A/C.

About 12000ft up, super remote Kite Lake and old mine site.

Really nice. The highest elevation I have been at was 9,000ft. I was very light headed. Â That was on the Big Island Hawaii. I wanted to go to 13,000 where there was an observatory, but the rangers wouldn't let me because the kids were 12 and 14 at the time and it wasn't allowed because they said there would be problems with the blood/oxygen with people under 18 years old.

Rental place here is at 9157ft. Been over 13000 a few times this week.

Would love to make that trip someday but I know the wife doesn't want the 1400 mile(one way) drive.

Why did you take the Jeep over the side by side? Looking at the videos it looks like the right choice for the trip with the rain and snow. One day I would like to drive to Colorado and then out to Utah, they both have amazing scenery.
