Took a 2013 Ram for test drive

BB, how do you like the fit and finish coming from the Toyota. I can't get rid of the Cummins is awesome but the rest is still just a dodge.

everything seems tight right now and the materials are new for 2013 which made these rigs very nice inside especially in the higer trim levels.

proof in the pudding for me will be can it last like the toyota, I doubt it, but I was willing to give them a chance.  Even though I had a few super minor issues (lock on rambox had to be adjusted) and the light under the rear seat was unpluggged), that is already still more than I had with my tundra in 53K when I sold it.  I had 0 anything in the tundra, it was perfect, all I did was change the oil, I didin't even had to do brakes in that time.

so this Ram, although I love it, has a tall order to fill.

well see if the lack of sqeaks, rattles, and issues and lasts.

ride, feature wise, etc, it's way nice than my tundra.  I love the Ramboxes, I use them daily.

so far, so good, and I get pumped everyday that I get to drive it and I am very fortion in the position I am in to be able to afford a truck this nice.  I do work for it though....

Toyota kinda dropped the ball with the 2014 redesign or I might have one of those instead.

all that BS on PUTC all those years about the tundra being a POS, was simply untrue, it was a rock solid power puller for a 1/2 ton, with no squat with weight.

I still like this ram a lot!!!

My 8.4 radio/screen/microwave/NSA listening device is being a tad quirky on mine. Too many static crackling noises through the speakers and it's changed from FM to AM and FM to Media on its own a few times. 

Everything else has been rock solid. Leaving out tomorrow for Colorado and I'll bring it in after I get back to have them tell me they can't duplicate the problem. 

And for all the hype of this coil sprung rear suspension, my F150 rode better. But this one has a shorter wheel base and bigger wheels, I'm sure that's some of it.

I think the tundra is a great truck. What turned me off is "portraying" it as a 3/4 ton with the ranch videos. Do I think it will do the work absolutely, but will it do every day and last not too sure. But granted an F-250 can do the same if not heavier hauling then mine similarly equipped of course. With my situation today I can downgrade to a 3/4 ton and be fine but not sure what the future holds so I would just spend the extra cash and buy a 1 ton with less goodies..

pup or BB, either of you looked into the Lockpick C8 that will be coming out for our Ram touchscreens?

Since I plan on keeping this one for a while, I may end up buying the Lockpick.

BB, do your blacked out headlights still have the amber LED turn signals at the bottom? Also, are your blacked out tailights still LED?

yup, amber LED DRLs/Turn signals.  yes, taillights are LED but blacked out.

since this doesn't auto resize, what's a good size for pics?  I see you can enter in the size?

Thanks, I just wanted to make sure if I do buy or swap for the blacked out ones, that they are the same thing I have now, just blacked out.

I usually do 800x600 or 600x400 for forums.

Too much for me to fork over up front. But the cheapest I found was $391 EACH.

Looks nice! We can't have dark windows all around here, only the back half. Front can be lightly tinted. Good luck with it.

Thanks. We aren't supposed to have them either buy usually are not bothered unless a cop has a hardon for window tint. They aren't too dark, just look that way in the pics. 10% front, 30% over the factory in the rear.

I tell you what, Ram makes a damn good looking truck! Enjoy your new rigs guys!

I have about 75k miles in 3 years. In that time, I have had a couple of issues.
1st - new truck. Fuel tank pressure sending unit.
2nd - 50k miles left rear brake light.
3rd - 68k miles. Idle bearing went out. When in for this repair (and while it was still covered under bumper to bumper) they replaced the evaporator. I am convinced it was 'make work' for the shop to make money. The ac system was working properly.
4th - 71k miles. Right rear brake light.
