Sounds pretty cool. GM is taking a big risk with a switch to EV vehicles. Hope the EV hummer is competitively priced. One article estimated $70k which seems too high for the targeted average pickup buyer. GM will have to plan on losing money before they sell enough to make a profit. GM plans to use a modular design that's re-usable across their vehicle offering. So that should help with keeping costs down.
I'm not sure GM has ever had much luck with these new big ventures though. Ford might have the best idea by getting into it slowly and teaming with a smaller EV company.
Another article reported the new EV hummer's torque at 1150ftlb. For comparison, I think class 8 semis get by with only 2k to 3k ft-lbs of torque.
