Ive been wanting to pick up one of these for a while and just haven't yet. Taylors & Co Smoke Wagon Deluxe, 5.5" barrel, .45LC. Uberti makes them, then Taylors refines them a bit.

My son asked me the other day, "what are you going to buy next"? Nothing immediate but I have been thinking a wheel gun in the future. Not sure which caliber. Either in Nickle or Blue, but not silver.

Minneapolis dismantling the police force might have an increase in local gun sales. The trick will be getting to the gun store before the criminals break-in and wipe them clean.

One of my 4 brothers never really had any use for handguns, etc...The Great Antifa Organized Democrat Riots of 2020 has changed his mind.
He bought a Glock G43X for his wife, and a Kimber 1911 in 9mm for himself late last week. No ammo to be had, so I brought him a few boxes of mine.
In other news, BLM just overtook Obama as the greatest gun salesmen of the 21st Century.

Ammunition is hard to come by. I've been looking online and having a hard time finding 9mm at a reasonable price. I have a stash but still look to build it up for the future.

Any recommendations for a basic scope for a AR? Realistic range is 100 yards max for rodents.
Just bought some ammo from Dunhams, -50 rounds blazer 9mm for 13.99 -100 rounds TulAmmo .223 $40, steel case was all they had

I use a TruGlo tactical on mine, helps that the wife works there.

On my AR-15 I have a Nikon Pro Tactical. I am most likely purchasing the TruGlo above for my 5.56 Mossberg Patrol Rifle, bot action.

Well I ordered the TG8539TL, have a DPMS rifle too. Too bad not a USA product but mid-grade optics are sold out in many places currently.

Ammo has come down to a "decent' level. Just ordered 1k of 9mm for $0.36/rnd. Might need to get another case of .223, maybe more 9 before prices jump...again.

From what I have been seeing, NATO ammunition is coming back to post covid prices. 9mm seems to be pretty close and also the 5.56, and the 7.62x51. Time to stock up.

From a quick look 223 is running +.20/rd vs a few months back. In the 70 range vs the 50 I paid for a brick.

I went to Cabela's in TN and Georgia this past weekend. Neither location was stacked deep but there was more 9mm and 5.56 at prices that weren't to bad. I flew to Georgia and had a carry on so I couldn't buy it and take it on the plane. Next month when I drive down I'll see what is in stock.

Our local Dunhams has stock again. I'd say pricing is midway between pre-covid normals and covid highs.

I sold my two Taurus G2C and G2S last week. For a range gun, they were fair but not good. Almost every Magazine I had a problem with. Either failure to feed, double feed, and stove pipe.
Today, I picked up a new Sig Sauer P320 9mm compact. We can only have 10 rounds in NJ. The model I got is MA compliant, meaning it has a manual safety. Identical to the one the army M17 which they purchased 500,000. NJ now by Supreme Court ruling now allows us to get a carry permit which was  impossible to get before this.  I have a Utah  Permit that covers me in 32 States, but not NJ.

Brother has that model he uses for his carry gun.

I decided on a G43 9mm for a new carry. I'm on the waiting list for the CCW training even though it's not needed here. It's been 20yrs since I had a CCW so it's good review plus having multi state permission.

Wife has the G42, same gun as the G43, just a .380. I have a G48...longer slide G43.

I didn't get to check out the G48 but in hindsight the G43 and G48 are both nice compromise carries with their slightly longer grip and narrower width.

I did the local CCW course and was surprised how its changed in the last 20 years or so. It use to only be about law, safety, gun handling, and a little target shooting at the range.
Now with concealed carry being the law of the land, the CCW course was mostly about marketing, scaring you into buying liability insurance, selling accessory self defense BS (batons, taser, pepper spray, electronic accuracy gadget), and promoting additional gun training. Five hours of that at a local greasy spoon where they encouraged you to buy dinner too.
So in the end, I researched different insurance options and most all overstate what's covered and understate the limitations. They also bad mouth expensive lawyers and promise to cover lawyer fees. However, if the DA charges you for any felony, like firing a weapon in city limits or pointing a weapon at someone, the insurance plans coverage is void. Some plans void coverage if you have any detectable alcohol in your system.
Add at the other side of the boxing ring, local CC lawyers bad mouth CCW insurance companies and instead tout their, just as expensive, retainer plans while saying all lawyer fees are covered. Of course in the fine print they charge you extra lawyer fees for this and that as well as retain the right to not take your case.
And then there's one ~$200/yr membership plan (Armed Citizens Defense Network) that supports you but isn't insurance, has minimal resources, and mostly provides education.
It's a can of worms. Aside from staying educated about the law we are pretty much on our own while many local governments put a target on gun owner's backs.

My state just passed laws requiring gun insurance, a safety course and higher fees to have a CCW. I can't wait to move out of here.

NJ might even be worst than California.

Here in Texas, it might be against the law not to own at least 10 self defense weapons, and 5 offensive weapons.

I got bit by the 9mm bug. I started looking at 9mm PCCs. They look like a lot of fun. I could imagine needing a silencer too.

Once you get the bug it is a trip down the rabbit hole. There is always an accessory to buy. I can't have a silencer where I live, might be okay for you but I think you may need a permit from the ATF. Buy ammunition at every chance.
Looks like you don't need a permit in your state.

Yes! I needed to buy another red dot etc. I went to a local gunsmith and learned about binary triggers for about $500-600! Cool but naw.
I might hold off on the silencer related to the $200 Federal permit as well as silencers being more expensive than I assumed.
I've been searching for the best online ammo sites. From my quick search Ammoseek gives inaccurate shipping cost reviews. Gunbot seems to be an almost dead site with poor price updates. AmmoMan has free shipping and can sometimes still beat other website pricing.

The way guns laws are being instituted, I buy ammunition when I find a good price on it. If they can't stop guns sales they will restrict ammunition.
