| About 2 months ago while at my daughters house, her husband showed me a new Taurus G2S 9mm single stack handgun. I have had a Taurus in the past but have heard more than a fair share of problems with particular models. I shot his at the range, liked it and bought one. The one drawback was the 7 round magazine. I added a +1 extension to make it 8 rounds. Then I bought a +2 extension for my Glock 42. Today, I picked up another Taurus G2C which is a double stack that holds 10 rounds and is only a little wider in the grip than the G2S. I live behind enemy lines so 10 rounds is the limit here. To say the least, my wife is not overjoyed at my latest purchases. I do carry them concealed when I am in Georgia which my stays there are getting more frequent and longer. | |

| I had a Taurus PT111 G2 9MM for a short while. Never had a problem with it, but I never could get used to the long trigger pull on it. | |

I may change out the triggers. It is a long pull that I am not used to.

| Wife shoots a Glock G48 real nice. Single stack 9mm. Tad larger than the G43. Extra length in the slide and grip makes it easier for her to hold onto and shoot. She also has a Glock G42 .380 and a Kimber Micro 9, but she prefers the G48(that I bought for me) | |

Take your time. There are so many models out there it gets hard to make an informed decision. Sigs are good, so are Glocks. You do pay more for them but they do give you a piece of mind that they go bang when they should.

| I started looking for 5.56 for my brother Sunday. Most bulk was already sold out of up to $1.00 a round from those turds at Cheaper than Dirt. I'm good on ammo. My brothers next door neighbor reloads for him, so besides 5.56 he is okay. He has 1,000 of the 5.56, but more is better. | |

| Was talking with co-workers other day. While I don't have 1,000s of rounds I'm not sure it'd matter. If it came to a point of needing to send that much lead down range, there would be that much coming my way AND probably from more directions than we could defend from. Unfortunately we don't have a basement so there is no reinforced places to take up a solid defensive position.
IF things go seriously south we should be able to make roaming bandits think twice. Organized criminal operations....not so much.

| I have heard the 1,000 round per caliber a lot on YouTube and gun forums. I'm close to that figure with some calibers and have much more in other calibers. But as D Dan has said " If it came to a point of needing to send that much lead down range, there would be that much coming my way AND probably from more directions than we could defend from." My same thoughts. I have so many windows and Sliding doors in my house that I don't think it is a good defendable house. If it ever got that crazy I think packing up and getting to my brother 20 miles away is the plan for me. | |

| I'm a bit rural now, so the zombie horde will be concentrating on urban areas first. If shit starts to break down, I'll have time to bug out somewhere else. | |

IMO, 99.9% of livable homes are not easily defendable by 2 people. After all it's a house not a fortress. The goal is to make yours not the softest target.

| The way I am currently set up, I have 5 Adults that all shoot. 4 rifles, 1 shotgun, 4 semi-auto handguns. That would give me time to load up my RV with all my food, ammo, clothing and get out of Dodge. I could use some shotgun loads. I have a few but not enough. Seven boxes are trap shot. I would have to get some wads and led to load 00-buckshot. I probably have enough powder to load 200 rounds. | |

| I'm working from home now. Wife works at TruGlo and was deemed "essential" because they supply law enforcement. Zach works at Kroger so he has to keep going in too.
Both are now carrying when they leave the house, until further notice.

| TruGlo, I bet you get some good deals. I spent yesterday reloading shotgun shells. I had some powder, lead, and about 90 wads so I loaded until I ran out of wads. I have a very inexpensive Lee Load All 2. Under $50 on Amazon. You do not save money reloading with this machine, it is more of a hobby. I would like to load some 00 buckshot, but can't get the right supplies that match the 12ga. Winchester hulls I have. | |

| We have TFX Pro sights on all of the pistols and have some TruGlo optics on the AR's. She gets them at cost. In house engineer installs them on our slides. I handle the optics for the rifles.

| Last week I replaced sights on two of my handguns because they were plastic and I didn't think they would hold up abuse if needed to rack the slide. I may do my G-42, not sure yet. | |

| Cleaned a few more handguns today. Tomorrow I will clean some long guns. I cleaned them about 2 months ago so it will be just some CLP Collectors lubricant that can last up to 5 years. It doesn't have to be wiped off to use, just load and shoot. | |

| I used up all my reloading supplies for my shotgun. If we could find a store open I would like to get more and load another 500 trap loads. I don't particularly need them but it would give me something to do. HazMat delivery fee makes it foolish to order online. | |

| Now I just need a range to be allowed open. I most likely will just go to my brothers and only shoot a few rounds out of a few guns after having done modifications to 4 in the past month. | |

| Our ranges will open this Friday. I will wait a few causes I'm sure everyone is going to want to shoot as soon as they are open. My son Mike purchased a nice Sig 320 X5 Legion recently and has not been able to try it out. We have not been able to shoot at my brothers, so now I'll take my son there and run 100 rounds. Should be fun. | |
