Looks like a Med Cruise this summer

My mother in law is taking our family and my sister in laws family on a cruise that starts out in Spain, goes to France, and then Italy. It would not be my #1 choice but a free cruise is a free cruise. Everything is booked, just making sure we have enough luggage for the five in my family.
$200 for the Colosseum in Rome. I don't think so

It sounds good. I have tried to talk her out of it as it has gone over $50K so far. She said she wants to spend some money while she can still get out and enjoy life.

That sounds nice. I would love to see the world minus the sketchy places. For my taste, France and Germany may be a bit too over-run with middle-east extremists.

I agree. I have some concerns about France but I think it is a one day stop. Last night we were talking about wearing lanyards so we didn't have to keep digging into our pockets when we needed them. I told my wife, the ones we own are all from the military as them give them out when recruiting at our schools. I told her we should buy new ones as you never know how people over seas would react to have something military on us.

Be safe. Sure sounds fun. I hope youre MIL keeps being able to enjoy things. I wish my parents had done stuff before their health got to were it is now.

My MIL is going but her husband can't. They had to leave 3 days into a cruise in February because of his health. He is a good guy, said he spent enough time onboard a ship when he was in the Navy. He will go to Chile and fish instead.

Leaving tomorrow the 6th. I'm hoping the weather has cooled down some. When our flight is scheduled, the weather service is calling for thunderstorms. Last year, same airline on the way to AK, the weather put a 4 hour hold on the flights.

Just a few pictures to start out with. I came home sick from a sinus infection and am pretty much in bed for the next few days. Starts with caves in Spain, then 3 stops in Italy. Florence, Rome, Naples. Counted 5 pickup trucks in 3 countries. Smart cars are everywhere as well as Fiat, Mini's and a lot of brands I never heard of. I saw 1 Jeep Wrangler.

I'll get more up when I feel better.

I know you can barley see it, but in the bottom right corner is an army truck. At every Historical site in Italy, The army has at least a dozen troops standing guard.

Did I say it was HOT! Winds from Africa kept the temps well into the 90's. I would not go there in the summer ever again. Being sick didn't add to it, I was sweating the entire trip, couldn't drink enough water.

Doctor said that I wouldn't start to feel better until Thursday or Friday. Feeling worse today but I still got up early to mow the overgrown lawn. By the time I feel better the weather is supposed to be close to 100F. Just got to bite the bullet and sweat it out for 90 minutes, then right back to bed.

I am having trouble adding more than one picture at a time. Still under the weather, not getting any better after being on antibiotics for 6 days now.

First picture is the Vatican, the second is Sorrento. Beautiful views from the cliffs. Very expensive to live their, less expensive in northern Italy according to the limo driver. Some days we had drivers that spoke great English, one day we had one that didn't speak it at all.

Still sick. Tomorrow I will have to decide whether to go back to the doctor or ride it out. Since it's 101F outside right now I can be content being indoors. Weather is supposed to break tonight.

I think your right. I just have to get up and keep moving and get it out of my system.

Back to the doctor today. A different antibiotic, prednisone, and a different nasal spray. Been sick for 2 weeks, I hope this new batch will be the answer.

Summer Colds/Flu always seems to be the hardest to kick.

And this was going to be a summer where the most I did was cut the lawn and work on my small dock on cool days.

I've been home for 2 weeks now and still haven't been able to get rid of acute sinus infection. I went thru 2 courses of antibiotics, 2 different nasal sprays and prednisone. Wednesday I will see a specialist ENT to see what he thinks.
