Weather related.

We had one crazy night and morning due to a strong Nor'eastern that came up the coast. School had delayed openings as the roads closer to the bay were flooded. I was waiting to hear my roof start to come off last night as the winds were a steady 40 mph and gusting up past 60.
The high school is having exams so I have a slow work week for a change. Woke up and the house was empty except for me, dog, cat.

Had crazy winds here too, about 2" of sleet piled up, very little rain.

We are still getting rain and strong winds. The tide is pretty high in my back yard and the ocean is still a beast.

Sunny and 76 here today, but the wind was crazy on Sunday.

Sunny today. Worked called and cancelled my job today. Warm enough to go the range.

Since my brother built a house on 10 acres out in the country, I go there to shoot instead of the range.

No joke! I drove back from Houston on Sunday and from Houston to Abilene I was fighting the wind and it was a pretty an even match. Normally on the highway the Expedition gets 17-18 mpg doing 75-80 mph but to Abilene I averaged just half a hair over 14 mpg. Luckily the wind calmed down after Abilene.

We had a few gusts that had me thinking we were about to lose the big oak out front. I saw lots of fence panels blown over between home and work too.

My brother has a small range on his 5 acres, but neighbors complain when we shoot the AR's. I hadn't shot in a while so I covered everything today G42, Ruger 9mm, and AR 15. I didn't bother to bring any 22Lr either. No need for shotgun, the trap range is 12 minutes from my house and has lighting. Tomorrow after work I'm thinking of heading up and get 3 rounds in. I would love to leave straight from school but if by chance I got caught I would be screwed big time.

I have a friend that hauls RV's for a living. One time while heading west on I-10 he was forced to pull over for 3 days because the head winds had him down to 4mpg with a Dodge Cummins.
