I guess many states have internet sales tax but most buyers aren't paying it or declaring purchases to the state. Internet businesses would have to suffer if taxes were more aggressively pursued.

I personally think most online sales shouldn't be taxed given the risks of identity theft, fraud, fake or no warranty, counterfeit, etc. But there's billions of dollars to be made and states need the money. Maybe a good compromise would be to cut the tax in half.

I know we in NJ will start to pay tax on Amazon which we have never done before. They are opening up a warehouse here so we will get taxed.

It's simply not feasible . When I did my return this year turbo tax sakes this since I'm in IL. Did you have any purchases out of state you didn't pay tax on. Ya right, I had like tons of stuff I bought on the web,l. I'm not going to track every time I buy small stuff like diapers batteries flashlights ect.

Lame, they have enough of my money

Our tax dollars made the internet reality, we pay taxes on monthly internet access, we bought our computers and equipment that make it all possible and yet they want more.

Meanwhile congress still can't agree the nearly defunct postal service should cut back to a 5 day work week.
