Are they really that pricey? And they don't seem to be too enamored with the power either.

A 2wd Tahoe LS starts in the mid-forties on Chevy's website.

Our 2008 Yukon XL listed for $54K, we got it loaded with 1st and 2nd row bucket seats. It was on display with 12 other models of the Yukon in different colors. It had 200 miles on it from driving it to the Baseball All Stat game in NYC. They intended to drive the players around in them but realized they were too big to get through some of the city streets. We paid $37K for it.  It's nice, but not $54K nice!

Wages haven't kept up with the skyrocketing cost of new vehicles.

Something will have to give soon or more bailouts will be in our future.

Hopefully that "something" will be the Marxist dbaggers running things in Washington and in a bunch of states around the country. For them it is all about power and control, everyone and everything else be damned.

Look at the Bundy Ranch incident for a fine example.

On the Tahoe Yukon it seems they aren't priced to sell in volume. But to sell at a quantity that aligns with CAFE demands. No easier way to limit volume than to bump the price. Likely getting a larger margin on each unit with fewer units sold.
