I'm wondering why the other manufacturers haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet and offered an opening rear window, like the one in the Tundra? Not just a small slider in the center, but the entire window rolling down with defog/defrost wiring. Does Toyota have a patent on it or what? Seems like such a common sense (and great) idea to me.

I've never used one. Is there much dust from the bed area or when running on dirt roads?

In the old trucks with a rear slider all kinds of trash would come in through the open slider. Maybe with the aero treatments on the new trucks it is not such an issue. That said, I'd still like a slider on my truck.

My truck has the auto slide and the only time I really use it is in the summer to get the hot air out while the A/C is cooling the truck down.
