| I can't imagine GM allowing the Ram to catch up but it's getting close. I bet GM increases advertising and sales promos.

| What happens when the Tundra passes the Sierra? Take out the HDs and compare 1/2 ton to 1/2 ton and what are the numbers? | |

| The GM redesign seems to be a flop. | |

| The Silverado outsold the can do nothing wrong Camry. The Sierra 1/2 ton has been outsold by the Tundra many times in the past. Nothing new there. The GM twins sold 40k to the Ram's 25k. Hardly being taken over.
The Titan is a flop and will likely still be after it comes with a Cummins. Lipstick on a pig.

| The GM twins should not have their sales combined. They are stand alone divisions that have to make a business case individually.
Same with Equinox/Terrain, Traverse/Acadia, Malibu/LaCrosse etc.

Same with Equinox/Terrain, Traverse/Acadia, Malibu/LaCrosse etc. I agree totally. General Motors make them and market them as two seperate vehicle lines, so the industry assesses them as two seperate vehicle lines. Simple as that. Everyone knows they are one and the same with a little badge engineering, but who are we to mass them together if GM themselves want them as two seperate entities.

Was replying to this statement. The redesign outsells the Ram by a large margin. The Chevy outsells the Camry and is the #2 selling vehicle last month. Some failure it is.

| These sales numbers are BS anyway. They're really just production #'s of vehicles in the pipeline. A while back I was mentioning about a local Ram dealer that has a huge number of Ram pickups lined up in the back lot of a large shopping mall. They're still there. There's lots like that all over including the manufacturer's lots and train depots. | |

| It's comical that people still get butthurt over what a corporation sells or doesn't sell.
"You bought a new vehicle, so what, now buy another one." That's the extent of their loyalty to the customer.

| I wonder if GM even cares that Ram is about to sell more trucks than Chevrolet . | |

| Oh, I'm sure they care! Now they have to do something about it. | |

Problem is the "new and improved" trucks are not gaining any market share back. Ram has been steadily moving up the ladder. Couple more of these down months and the Silverado will not be the #2 selling vehicle.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/101401059 That's the case in my neck of the woods- the Chebby and Ford dealers have nearby vacant lots jammed full of unsold trucks (probably a hundred and fifty or so) . The "sales" numbers are a joke anyways- iirc the sales are booked by manufacturer to dealer, not dealer to consumer. It's a mostly meaningless number.

| The difference betwwen wholesale price and MSRP is so vast, there's tons of room to wittle the price down and make the consumer THINK he's getting a great deal. Not so much! As long as the buyer is happy in the end, that's all that matters I suppose. | |

No, it is sales to the consumer be it retail or fleet. What is sitting on the dealer lots is field supply. Field supply is measured in days. If GM sold 25 trucks per day last month and the total number of trucks currently in dealer inventory was 250 then they would have a 10 day supply. They use last months sales figures to determine this months field supply and can fluctuate widely.

The Ford and Chevy dealers have nearby lots packed full of trucks ... never seen anything like it the seven years we've been here. It's thinned out some since the beginning of Jan. so they are selling some.
