It has been hazy and cool this past week due to the fires in Canada. Today, it is really bad outside. I was going to wash my truck but the air is so bad with the smoke that I will wait to do it. Typically, the ocean air helps clear the air but not today.

I have wildfires to the north west of me about 25 miles away but that smoke isn't affecting me.

The national media seems to be playing it up maybe because it's hitting NYC. I imagine it's comparable to what the west/mountain states go through almost every year. No doubt it can ruin a summer vacation at the least.

We couldn't go outside yesterday afternoon. The smoke was thick and I couldn't breath well. I have asthma making it difficult. All outdoor activities were called off.
We get forest fires here all the time in the spring, last week my truck was covered in ash when I left school.
The change of air flow over the weekend is expected to make it better.

The NYC TV weather that I watch is saying to expect there to be smoke of some degree all summer here. The rest of my state has an air quality warning today but not where I live.

This website gives a high level view of global fires. Mexico and South Africa look out of control. Maybe they are burning rain forests in South Africa?
