Knob gobbling jackass idiot hit the wife on her way home yesterday. He tried to make a turn at the last second, damn near flipped because he was going way to fast to turn, and hit the wife in the front drivers quarter. Bent the steel bumper a bit, but the tire took the impact, which drove the axle back, bending it a bit, collapsing the control arms and driving the front drive shaft back into the transfer case. Front drivers wheel isn't spinning free, draggin on something internal in the hub/axle. No telling what other steering components are comprimised now too. Shocks, springs, too.
We just installed a dash cam a couple weeks ago that captured it all. So that takes out all the "he said, she said" crap.
Wife has a sore shoulder and back this morning and is getting checked out. Don't think its anything serious though.

Assclown wasn't even wearing a seatbelt...who does that these days? You can also see his right rear tire come off the ground because he's going to fast for the turn.
His insurance is active, claim filed. Now the games begin. No telling how many months this repair will be with the parts shortage.

He was clearly going to fast when he made that turn. Hopefully parts are available and you won't have a long wait. I hope your wife isn't injured. Sometimes it takes a few days to feel all the pain. The driver of the Jeep was lucky he didn't hit the car behind him after he hit your wife.

There was a line of cars behind Kristy too, so if he didn't hit her, he was gonna get the next in line. He was hell bent on hitting someone.
She's getting checked out this morning. Shoulder, neck and back are sore.
Impact drove our Jeep backwards 18"'s or so. Dreading finding out all the crap thats gonna need fixing.

Going into the shop tomorrow to start the process. Highly recommended and respected Jeep only shop so they know their business. He's going to go thru it with a fine toothed comb and repair as needed.

Yikes. That guy was in tunnel vision land. It's probably a good sign the air bags didn't go off. His right rear wheel was airborne. He appears to be old enough to know better. Hopefully his insurer gets a look at that video.

Using my insurance and letting them go after his. His insurance co is an absolute clown show. Clearcover.com...If dealing with knob gobbling idiots is your thing, hit them up.
Shop picked it up earlier today and took it straight to their frame shop...front end is tweaked about 1/4" and the axle is bent.

What did the insurance company decide? Repair or total?

Initial estimate is right around $8k. Axle and suspension components mainly. Frame being tweaked not included in it yet. They'll start the tear down and see what else they find.

Hopefully the guys insurance handles the claim quick for you. I guess 8K is inexpensive these days.

Yea, that's not too bad. It's probably more today but one source says an average frame straighten job is around 13hrs at up to $85/hr ($1105).

Did it go on the frame rack yet or does it need to be put together first?

I watch a body guy on YouTube, Robby Layton. He has a body shop and it's pretty cool to watch them take apart and rebuild vehicles. The frame rack is impressive.

Picking it up this afternoon. Frame pull was successful, grill touched up, new bumper, new fender flare installed.
