A good read (book)

I've been reading the book "Empire of the Summer Moon" by S.C. Gwynne.  A very interesting story mainly taking place in the early and mid 1840's in mostly Texas.  A quick summary would be a woman from Texas, Cynthia Ann Parker taken captive by Comanches that has a son who in turn becomes an important Chief. True story, Parker was taken in a raid when she was young. Her family is prominent in Texas politics, and has members who formed the Texas Rangers. Worth the read IMO.

Lots of their history spread throughout TX. Towns, state parks, etc...

We drive through Quanah and Nocona TX every year heading to Colorado.
