Spray in or drop in bedliner- what say you? Want to put a bedliner in mama's new ride but not sure which is the better choice. Always had drop in bedliners in my trucks because I thought they held up better for the stuff I used to do- construction demo waste, sand, gravel, manure, you name it but I've had a couple people tell me a spray in bedliner is the way to go. Pretty sure this truck won't see the kind of use I gave mine. The two quotes I got for the spray in bedliner (one was Line-x) were $500+. The Mopar accessory drop in bedliner was about $200 less.

I prefer the spray in. Things just don't slide around like the do with a drop in. Don't trap moisture like the drop ins do either.

Thanks ... that's what the others said. I'm convinced. That leaves the brake controller and tonneau cover which I hope to have done before the end of the year. Going to go Mopar on the last two items- dealer gave 10% off coupon on Mopar accessories.

I like the spray in liner over the drop in. Have to agree with what Pup stated. I had a Rhino in my last truck, and have heard good things about the linex also.

There is no "perfect" option and I've had both types. The drop-in type pros: -allows cargo to slide easier, that's a plus or a minus depending on use. -offer additional impact resistance -shoveling loose material out
Cons: -adds height to cargo, when inches count -possible static generator

I roll in Herculiner myself, then throw in a bedliner. Best of both in my book.

Ended up going with Rhinoliner through the dealer- they have an authorized installer in the next town they use exclusively. Looks good- it's noticeably thicker than the factory installed spray in bedliner. Also got the tonneau cover (Access brand- made in North Dakota) and the Mopar integrated brake controller installed. Thanks to all for the advice.

I had a Rhino for 10 years in my diesel. It faded a little but held up very well over time.

If it does fade Rhino has some stuff called "Rhino Shine Ultra" which is supposed to restore the new look. Rhino does seem to have a good warranty- lifetime to the original owner (it's not transferable) against cracking, bubbling and peeling ... hope I never have to use it.

If I were to get a Rhino or other brand, there is one thing I would do different. When I had my Rhino installed I was towing a fifth wheel. The dealer had me remove the rails before the liner was installed. That was a mistake. The rails need a solid base, and with the liner I had to put the rails down over the liner which although tightened very well just didn't seem as secure. At the time IIRC, I paid around $450 for an 8' bed.
