Bad luck comes in groups.

Friday I found a rescue center that take in animals. I drove 2 hours to deliver my 13 ducks. What nice people to take in so many animals. To date they have 520 rescues from poultry, horse, hogs, pigs, goat and cows.

So Monday I decide to power wash the coop and pen and get rid of all the things needed for the ducks. Half hour in the well stops pumping. The well is under the house in a crawl. When I was younger I could squeeze in the crawl space. Now I would have to grease it to fit in. I'm hoping its the pressure switch.

That night while getting ready to leave for a concert I noticed upstairs was really hot compared to the first floor. Condenser is frozen, fan is blowing, but the unit in the attic is not turning on and blowing air. I'm now waiting for the contractor to show up. I trust the guy, used him as my #1 call when I was still in the utility authority and my son worked for him for 2 years while going thru college. So I do trust what he charges will be fair. All this while trying to get ready for a week cruise from Spain to Italy and back.

Is the well pump working or are you stuck in the crawl space??

pump will trickle to nothing. I am thinking the pressure switch is stuck, I replaced it 25 years ago. I might try it tomorrow. Today the A/C guy came out. Capacitor $18, service call $140. My son replaced the outside one last year, I don't have the volt tester for this type of current. I probably should have just bought it and installed it to see, but not knowing these systems I was okay with Matt doing the work. Air is on, grease the opening and fit into the crawl space to repair the pump. It is only water for irrigation and washing the cars but I can't let it go and connect to the city water. Too much in connection fees.

I keep a couple of starting capacitors on hand just for that reason...if it doesn't fix it, I'll call in a pro.

I knew the guy who came out. I did ask if I should buy 2 capacitors, one for the indoor and one for the outdoor (I actually have 2 zones with the same setups). The tech told me expect the outside capacitor to go every 5 years or so but the inside one should go 15 years.

I got the well working today I hope. I went to the plumbing supply and replaced the switch. Of course I had to reprime the pump. Did that, it ran then stopped running. Back into the house, shut off the breaker and go through the same process to reprime. Turn on the breaker, nothing happens. Tap the side of the pressure switch and it runs fine. I have gone out several times and turned on the hose and it works.

Climbing in and out of that crawlspace wiped me out. I need a left knee replacement and kneeling in the crawl space really put a hurting on me.

Know the getting older feeling too.
Had to go into the attic because of a condensate leak on a blower unit. Legs stiff from working around the trusses, multiple trips in/out, up/down multiple flights of stairs.

My knees will be hurting for days. Golden years my ass.
At least the well seems to be working. I power washed my wood shed. large shed used for riding lawn mower, and cleaned the inside/outside of duck coop. Tomorrow is cut the grass day. Ride for the most part, then push in tight spots.

I've been painting the house, being on a ladder is KILLING me !

I know the feeling. I can get the gutters on the first floor off a step ladder, but forget the second floor with an extended ladder. I guess I was used to climbing the water towers over 300' tall, but I also had a safety harness and could lean back and rest on the cage that surrounded the ladder.
I will have to use the extended ladder to power wash the green algae on the second story.
