I couldn't resist FCA's 20% off MSRP for existing 2019 Rams on dealer lots. I put a deposit down and should be picking up a new body 2019 Ram Laramie 4x4 Weds. I checked the dealer's website and 2019's are quickly disappearing from the lots.

Pickup manufacturers are falling over themselves to maintain marketshare.

At first glance I thought Pup had bought a new truck. Good luck, there are some nice offers out there. Today GM said they would give me 110% of the base truck in 2010. Who knows what they consider base. When I worked in municipal government we could buy Ford F-150 4X4 base truck with an 8' bed for 16K.

I usually buy a low miles used but couldn't find a good deal this time. Even the rental car companies were ridiculously priced. I will be buying a brand new laramie for the same price as the rental company's year older, cheaper trim, ram with 22k miles on it and they don't negotiate - strict no haggle policy. They are patient and eventually get the price they want. They start with "blue book" and drop either 5 or 10%. I think blue book is BS these days.

It's been a few years since I owned the last pickup. We needed to add another vehicle to the herd as my daughter needed a car and my son has been pleading for me to buy another pickup. Anyway, that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it. Smile

In the past when buying a new vehicle, I have found dealers to say Blue Book is not the book we use. Gallos was one name that came to mind and I have never heard of it. I don't believe most things dealers say as they will lie to get a sale. For instance, my current truck bought Jan 1, 2010. I was told that as it was owned by the dealer and had 400 miles on it, the warranty would be doubled to 100,000 miles and 10 years bumper to bumper. Can't find it in writing anywhere.

Sometimes new is a better deal than slightly used. Just can't be as picky on color or options but deals are there to be had.

Yes, no doubt! Smile

Sorry I was out of town a couple of days.

It's a 1500 Laramie 4x4 with more bells and whistles than I ever thought I needed. I plan to move garage cabinets to squeeze it in.

Someone is very happy! He's already talking about a dirt bike.

You might be right! Smile

I looked around at the local dealers and overflow lots and couldn't find this color anywhere. It's sort of a root beer color. I only hope it doesn't turn out to be too dark.
