Agreed. I hate to see this forum shut down, but unless we somehow get more members I think it is only a matter of time before it closes.

Long ways from putc early days that's for sure.

Between the PUTC and here, I think I've been with some of the guys here over 15 years.

I've been looking at the stats, since Gregs last post on June 5, 2017 only 14 of us have been involved in starting a post or commenting on existing posts.
I hope things pick up so we can continue.

Searay, Rich, Wingnut, Huck, mistral... lots of good ol guys gone missing or just didnt make the move.

Every great while I will get a call from Mistral (Bill). He did sign up here as stretch. I know he has a busy life with work family, and was helping build his parents home IIRC. I did get a LinkedIn notice from him a week or two ago.
It's a busy life for sure, I know that myself I don't spend as much time online as I did in the past. I have a guitar teacher that recommends 3 hours of practice a night. I'm lucky if I get 1 to 1 1/2 hours in on a good day.

There were several from PUTC that made the jump but faded away.
Went through some early posts on here and seen many names that don't show up anymore.

Too bad nobody could have saved the files from the old PUTC, many good topics were covered under that format. The new style blog post is basically useless.
It was back in '96/99 that I joined PUTC.

Huck always had interesting things to say, I guess Alaska is keeping him busy. We haven't heard from Joemac or Mike Shatto in a while either.

As I look at the membership list, Huck did join but never posted.
Also haven't heard from Kevin in a few years.

Don't worry guys I'm still alive and kicking!

Nope. I got a laundry list of things to do it, including a front end rebuild, before I order new wheels and tires. Right now I $1100 in front end rebuild kit, shocks, seals, tools, and some stuff for another repair on it. I have to figure out if there's a wishlist because a tool just decreased like $15-$20 so I want to buy it on the cheap.

I hear you. Good tools are a must. I have new struts and shocks for my sons car, but am waiting for him to come home on a nice weekend and knock them out with a new impact gun I bought.

I don't spend as much time on the "net" as I use to either, I try to get here as much as possible.

I definitely don't spend as much time on the internet as I used to.
This weekend I at least put the struts and shocks on my sons car. The struts were pretty easy, but the shocks were a pain in the butt to get out as we had to undo the top from inside the trunk. This weekend all new tires and TPMS valves for his car.

Just put a heater core in my S10 Blazer, wow was that entertaining.

Nothing seems easy to work on an S10 Blazer. We bought a 1995 new, replaced a lot of parts before selling it. I had to have the dealer install one spark plug that I could not get out even after buy a good swivel for the socket set. I didn't want to disconnect the steering shaft to change the plug. By the time we sold it with 85K miles, we had to replace the fuel rail $800, wiper electronics, exhaust feel off driving down the highway. The vehicle wasn't abused, just not built well.

Mine has 238K on it now.
When doing plugs I take the pinch bolt out and disconnect the column. Motor mounts are a PITA too.

Any idea why he permanently left?

I know he was back at work after being out for quite a while with an injury. My guess is that things got too busy and he just doesn't have the time.
Since I started playing guitar a year ago, I have spent way less time on forums. I need an hour or two of practice every night and just don't have the time.
