I sure wished I lived close to Austin (COTA) this weekend. If so I'd be attending the MotoGP race at the brand new, world class, road track.

A friend of mine was going to go to the MotoGP this weekend, but a spot for his motorhome to park for the weekend was $3,000, although he was told it includes his two tickets and hookups for the motorhome.

That's nuts. I did a search and it sounds like COTA sells RV lots and lot owners get first dibs on race tickets. Maybe lot owners are deciding RV space price?

Now I can understand why they charge $3k per race. Here's some details on those track side COTA RV lot sales:

- $15k annual fee to 'own,' inflation will likely drive that up.
- Only 78 lots available
- it's your lot for only for 4 races each year

The lots are big, posh with grassy areas, and appropriate for a large expensive granite clad diesel pusher. If the lot owner was trying to rent it at a break even, it would be around $3750 per race. Definitely not anything I'd be paying for. Smile
