Prayers needed for LEO

A friend of mine was shot in the face today responding to a report of a sighting of someone who fit the description of a bomber that planted a series of bombs in NYC and NJ. After being shot, Pete still had it in him to shoot the suspect twice before other officers were able to take him down. I have known Pete for years and his wife and I work for the same school. He will pull through, but the round is lodged in his sinus cavity and may have to stay there. He is alert and talking.
Yesterday, we had planned to go over to Seaside Heights to enjoy the beach now the tourists have gone but ended up going to a different island. Lucky the 5K race was postponed as so many people signed up at the last minute. Had it started on time, who knows how many would have been killed or injured.

Tell Pete we are praying and pulling for him.

He sounds like one tough SOB.

I have heard that he will be out of the hospital and home by the end of the week. Apparently the bullet had slowed down enough going through the windshield to not do extensive damage. His kids are staying with neighbors across the street until he comes home.

Did it end up being that terrorist that they were after that did it?

Yes, they found lots of evidence of bomb making materials after searching his house.

Glad he will be ok. Praying for full and speedy recovery.

Pete will be okay. He got out of the hospital yesterday, I saw him on the news and he didn't look too bad.

Pete is doing well. He will do the coin toss at our High Schools football game this Saturday.

This country seems to be going to hell in a hand basket. The dead-beats, crooks, looters, and opportunists are getting all the attention and in the end given control. Too many first responder casualties and the average taxpayer/homeowner will pay more to offset their healthcare bills and disability retirements.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
