| I see Bass Aackword Government is still hard at work. How does the EPA, or who ever is behind this one think penalizing smaller trucks is going to help? | |

| How would this affect fleet sales? I would think a large number of fleet trucks are regular cabs. I guess they'd have to take an extended cab if that was all that was offered. | |

| Enthusiast folks buying Lightning-like pickups probably won't be very happy but that's a small niche. Maybe an overall plus for manufacturers as they can simplify production by eliminating a not so profitable product line.

| And here Nissan is about to start making regular cabs so they can compete more. I realize the crew cab is the configuration of choice for the last decade or so, but before the yuppies got into the truck scene, there were quite a few regular cabs kicking around. I'd hate to lose the choice as a regular cab would suit me just fine. | |

| When I was growing up, three of us would plow into reg cab front seats and that was a compact pickup with a floor stick shift. Imagine how awkward that would be today with our wide body society. Reg cabs are ideal for single folks, empty nesters, businesses, enthusiasts, and lone wolf terrorists. | |

| With all the fleet sales, I don't know how that would be possible. ____________________________________ Don't believe everything you read on the internet- George Washington.

| I read the article and was somewhat shocked by the new CAFE standard. Using todays measurements, a Toyota tacoma regular cab short bed will have to get 45 mpg (or cause a fine) while a crew cab will only have to get 35. What idiot (who thinks he is the smartest man in the room) come up with this shit? | |
