This 400 HP Ford Bronco On A Raptor Frame Is A Work Of Mad Genius
Quote :
act that can only be described as pure and utter genius, a shop in South Carolina dropped a Ford Raptor rolling chassis under a fifth generation Bronco body. The result? A badass, classic two-door SUV that drives like your favorite modern desert runner.
With its two doors, high ground clearance, and wide stature, the Bronco has always been a rugged, handsome looking truck. Problem is, Bronco production stopped in 1996, so if you want Bronco styling, you’ll have to deal with some pretty old-school tech. A guy named Van from Tumblin Automotive wasn’t feelin’ that, so he went nuts.
Van started with a 2011 Ford Raptor. He chopped up the frame and dropped a Bronco body on top. Then, to top it all off, he swapped in the Raptor’s interior. Check out the impressive interior in the full set of photos here.
So, how does it scoot? Well, Van ditched the stock motor for the Raptor’s 6.2L V8, so it scoots pretty well. Check out the dyno pull below. At the wheels, it looks to be putting out just under 340 ponies. That’s about 400 at the crank. Impressive!
And, for the offroad types among us, check out this “prototype” offroad footage. Looks like that locker is doin’ its job. Check out the flex from that rear axle!
