| Best-Selling Vehicles By State - Quote :
- While it's always interesting to track which vehicles sell the best in any given part of the world, sometimes we find noteworthy details when we dig in a little bit closer.
For instance, while you may know that the Ford F-Series pickup is the best-selling vehicle in America, did you know that there some other pickup trucks outsell it in over a quarter of the country? Would you have expected two different models from Subaru to be listed as best sellers in certain states?
Toyota Tacoma If you live in Hawaii, we're all jealous of your beautiful scenery. More importantly, for this list at least, you are a resident in the only state in which the Toyota Tacoma can be called the best-selling vehicle.
Seeing the Tacoma on this list is a surprise, but it's not the only Toyota on our list, as you'll soon see.
Subaru Forester The Subaru Forester makes this list thanks to its popularity in one single state: Connecticut.
That's not to say the Forester doesn't sell well in other States – it is, in fact, Subaru's best-selling nameplate in the United States – but Connecticut is the only state where the Forester outsells all other cars, regardless of manufacturer.
Toyota Corolla The Toyota Corolla is consistently one of the best-selling cars, not just in the United States, but in the entire world. Interesting, then, that the Corolla only manages to outsell all other nameplates in just one lone state: Florida.
GMC Sierra It's no surprise to see a pickup truck make any best-selling vehicle list in the United States, but one wearing the GMC badge is a bit of an outlier... unless you live in Vermont, in which case you likely see the GMC Sierra all the time. After all, it's the best-selling vehicle in that state.
Honda CR-V The Honda CR-V is the second crossover on our list of the most popular vehicles by state, which speaks to the popularity of the segment in the United States.
If you live in either New York or Rhode Island, chances are you see lots of the Honda CR-V in your neighborhood, because it's the most popular new vehicle in those two states.
Subaru Outback The second Subaru on our list is the Outback, which proves especially popular in Washington, Colorado and Maine.
We note with interest that those three locations all contend with unpredictable weather, be it snow, rain or some mixture of the two, along with a population that revels in outdoor activities. Perfect Subaru buyers, then.
Honda Accord Now we're getting into the bread and butter of the US buying population. While a smattering of smaller East Coast states choose the Honda Accord more than any other vehicle, the biggest win for this midsize sedan is surely California. That's right; the most populous state in the entire US (nearly 39 million residents call California home) is Honda Accord country.
Toyota Camry The Toyota Camry is the best-selling sedan in the United States, and it has been for the last several years. No surprise, then, to see that it outsells all other vehicles in Alabama, Georgia and the Carolinas. We do find it interesting that sales of the Camry are clumped mostly in the Southeastern United States, though, as we learned earlier, the Camry's smaller sibling, the Corolla, manages to outsell it in Florida.
Ram You knew that pickups were going to play a big part in this list, right? The first truck we come across is from Ram, which outsells its rivals mostly in the Western United States, taking the overall victory in Arizona, Montana, Nevada and Oregon, in addition to Alaska, the largest (in size, at least) state in the country.
Chevrolet Silverado The Chevy Silverado takes the overall sales title in ten states, many of them clustered around the Great Lakes in the Midwest. Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and West Virginia are all represented by Chevy's pickup, as are Delaware and New Hampshire.
Ford F-150 The Ford F-Series trucks have been the best-selling vehicles in America for as long as we can remember, and so we were expecting the Blue Oval's pickup to dominate this list of the best-selling vehicles by state. It doesn't disappoint.
If you live in Texas, you see lots of trucks, but the Ford F-150 is the most popular. It also takes those honors in Arkansas, Idaho, Kansas, Wyoming, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Mexico, North and South Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Utah.

| Looks like the south is still revolting against the north (manufacturing wise). | |
