Data Brokers

There was a scary story on 60 Minutes tonight. There are thousands of companies selling our personal information. The data is gathered by our online presence and smartphone apps. It's an underground industry with no oversight. They gather up to 1500 different pieces of data on you and sell it. And we can't opt out. They have strong political lobbies. The NSA has nothing on them.

The program identified several data gathering firms and some monitor DUIs, drug history, sexual orientation, medical history (diseases, cancers, mental health) and on and on. And then those silly little games like Angry Bird gather your movements throughout the day.

After the recent NSA revelation, I think citizens are gonna be really pissed off.

Have you ever looked at the permissions those phone apps ask for? They all seem verrrrry intrusive.

Yes and our only protection is not downloading the app. But after downloading it's all on the honor system as these apps have full access to all data on your phone and some take advantage of that. Gawd knows the NSA does.

We're told by the industry to not worry as the they will police themselves. Right, just like a fox at a hen house.

Rest assured if these companies have it, sell it, exchange it, the NSA has it.

Look for the simple connection of money in politics, companies that benefit from legislation, and a dumbed down populous who couldn't care less (majority) as recent generations have never had to fight, truly fight for our liberty, freedom, and personal property from enemies within our own borders.

Orwell's 1984 used to look all foreign and far fetched. Now its eerily similar and becoming all close to today's reality.

Consolidation of the wealth and power over the people never works in the peoples favor. Never.

From my understanding this is the reason we can't have over the counter SIM cards w/o personal data like some other countries do.

The SIM card ID and the EHEI number on the phone are used by drones, cell tower relay capability onboard, to locate and track GPS of a suspected target. They then send a hellfire to the GPS location. Sometimes the suspect has the phone, sometimes its the wife or the kids. The only time we're putting eyes on target is post kill an an attempt to identify the body (ies).

Here on home turf, we don't want the complication with SIM cards being freely exchanged. It makes the targeting much more difficult. Stupid Americans.
