PostSubject: Mess   February 27th 2014, 10:40 pm

I just missed this mess this morning. Had to return home via a different route which added an extra hour and half to my trip to Toronto and back home. Not too bad considering. Not a lot of snow accumulation, but high winds and extreme cold made the roads a mess. 96 vehicles involved in this pile up, but no serious injuries. 25 miles of Hwy 400, both directions, shut down for eight hours for clean up. Just another day in paradise.

I'm glad there were no serious injuries. You guys up there really have trouble when there's just a little bit of snow.  Laughing

LMAO, ya, I hear you!

Too many damn imports! And i'm not referring to the vehicles. Not to mention those zombies with the cell phones surgically attached to their hands.

I was a wreck waiting to happen after I moved from Southern California to the high country of Colorado Springs. I had to learn fast. Smile

You know, winter driving is easy with the proper tires, and 4x4 or AWD helps dramatically as well. The most important winter driving accessory is 'common sense'. Unfortunately that's lacking in what appears to be a majority of the drivers on our roads. Eventually, Darwin will sort this mess out.

Dallas Winter Weather Driving Tips

Turn on your cell phone.
Bring up Facebook in it.
Bust your ass 3 times on your way to the car.
Start car.
Remove no ice from windshield.
Start checking facebook.
Put car in drive.
Launch blindly into traffic.
Respond to your friends on facebook.
If you are a lady, use your free hand to start applying makeup.
And finally, wreck everyone that is paying attention to the conditions.
