Just bought some safes from an auction.
Two are Mosler and possibly the 3rd.

The dimensions are 47-3/4"high x 26-3/4"deep x 35-3/4"wide at 1400 pounds,
-----47-3/4"high x 26-3/4"deep x 34"wide at 1200 pounds
and 47-3/4"high x 26-3/4"deep x 35-3/4"wide at 1200 pounds.

Should be able to get all three in the truck, right? Shocked

Did some research on the Mosler safe company.
It is a shame it was another American icon that was run into the ground after 150 some odd years. It was their safes that were still standing after the A-bomb in Hiroshima.

So, what's the scoop? Did they fit?

I was just talking to my Dad a couple weeks back he mentioned Mosler.  The company he worked for for 25 years sold Mosler safes.  He's still got access to a Mosler safe, from a sale rep friend that offered it to my Dad if he wanted it.  They can't however locate the combination.  My dad was asking if he could spend $150 or around there to have open it.  I thought it was doubtful without damaging the safe.  I'm not certain however.

They should all "fit".  Though keeping them all properly strapped down without moving or becoming top heavy would be the concern.

How and the hell to get them into and out of the truck would another concern.  Don't believe you want even half of that weight supported on the tail gate or tail gate cables.

If it was a short trip, over good roads, and people not cutting you off I'd say make multiple trips.

Having to pick them all up at the same time.  I would consider renting a medium duty truck with D ring tie downs along the side panel supports.

Just a lot of things need to go right without damaging something or breaking something using our trucks.  Not impossible.  Just a lot involved.

Physically they will fit but 3,800 lbs is a little more than I care to put in the bed of my old truck. Think I will get the two 1200 pounders in one trip and the 1400 by itself. Looks like Tuesday will be the day to pick them up. Surplus gov auction, all have combinations.

Plan on taking my engine cherry picker along to load them. Tailgate will be off the truck and they are about an hour away. Don't feel like digging my 18' tandem axle trailer out for this, but I have all weekend to think about it.

You'd get all three in one trip with the trailer, no? Cherry picker and all.

My safe is a lightweight at 500 lbs. It will keep my kids away from my firearms, but a pro thief could probably get in.
