I guess some of you haven't looked at the Atlas for a while. Same headlights as the 2015, same outer grille shape, same doors, fenders, hood and bedsides. Only the roof is different. The same cut down on the front doors and yes it is two inches lower now with the mirrors farther forward to give better visibility.
It has a Ford look to it and is an evolution of the current one, but it's hardly the same as the current truck. Every panel on it is different and not just because they're aluminum.
Wonder where the c channel frame rumor came from?

I guess I saw quite a few difference from the atlas: front grill isn't exact and much else is different: engine hood lines, ceiling lines, wheel wells, tail gate, tail lights, rear view mirrors.
Overall it's still very similar appearing to the previous model year. I think it looks better than the previous model year with a bit more estrogen versus the atlas.

Scroll down to the gray Lariat and tell me the grille isn't very close. Ford uses several grille designs on the current truck. Head lights, bumper, hood, wheel openings, doors, bed sides are nearly the same thing.
When I first saw the pictures, my thought was it looks more like the Atlas than I thought it would. Way more similarities than differences.

looks pretty damn close in the front to me.
they didn't crease the side doors at the bottom as much but it's pretty true to the Atlas.
I think it looks sharp without the chrome.
now, I just need a large V8 please....

It looks a lot like the Atlas to me. Just one that has been toned down a bit..
Also, the side-by-side shot of the current F150 and this new '15 F150, makes the current truck look bland and boring..
I didn't like the new truck when I first saw it, but it's quickly growing on me..

You have a 8.4" navigation screen. This is not what Ford is referring to. The productivity screen in the dash went from 4" to 8" on the Ford.
You have power tailgate lock but not power release. If you have power release on your Ram, it was not from the factory. Ford's tailgate is power lock, unlock AND release. A first.

Apparently this is the XLT style grill (but I think XLT would also have a chrome bumper). I think it's the closest to the Atlas Concept. Looks good!

not sure what to think, around my area a lot of guys have aluminum trailers people say they just don't hold up to the abuse like a steel trailer does, i guess time will tell, i just hope they don't do it to the Super Duty's untill they have proven to stand the test of time, over all i like the looks of the new F-150 like some of the others i still like my V-8's

Thanks for the clarification, the details were sparse. It seemed kinda odd.

Yes, there it is. Grill is much closer appearing to the atlas. The other style with 3 horizontal chrome bars looks very similar to previous year. Thanks Greg.

The FX4 is now an option package, like the SD, not a trim level like before. Not sure if it is available on several trims or just one. Could account for the painted bumper on the XLT.

The LED light piping is interesting. I do like the soft blended light throughout the pipe, similar to what Cadillac pulls off withing their headlight assemblies.

The good thing is no one is forced to buy them. Least currently. After he's elected to his 3rd term, we might have too. Get ready, its going to get nasty.

hard to believe they went with those type doors still.
my 2001 tundra had those and that will be the last time I even own a truck with them. Of course I'm up to crew cabs now so it won't matter anyway. Interior looks nice although I don't like the cowboy trim level.

At least the suicide doors open 180 degrees, but still, they are annoying. I wonder why they didn't go traditional like everyone else?
Thanks for the pics Derek.

I work with several guys who have ext cab GM trucks from 2000-2013s. None want the length of a crew cab and all like the suicide doors since they are not used as primary people movers. They prefer the suicide doors for ease of access to the rear.

Thus the balance of utility for work access, or people convenience comes into play. I never had issue when I owned an extended cab suicide truck. Had occurrence of having to do the tango in a tight space with passengers, but never solidified it in my head as a pain.
I can see how the consumer market would move and demand to the traditional hinged doors however.
Part of me says well consumer market you already have a crew cab. Do you really need two rear cab lengths you greedy little #%#$#'s ?

Umm, I drive a crewcab with 8' bed, it doesn't do crowed lots very well anyway.
